T-Mobile Note 7 Recall Thread

Remember the CPSC will now have to do their own testing on these devices.

Say Samsung gets it to them next week, I am sure they will do hours upon hours of testing to make sure they are ok. And this is the US gov we are talking about whom moves at a snails pace.

I cant imagine Carriers having replacements before Oct 1st at the earliest.

I contacted tmobile regarding the JOD program and they stated that you could swapp out your note 7 for another devise Until your receive your new note 7.... This will not change you status (count).... due to unforseen circumstances!...

Where did you get that information from the new updated ones would have a special Marking? Not doubting you it'd just like to see the source?

Okay, can someone help me out with this. My wife is on the original jump with T-Mobile where you get 2 jumps in a year. If she used a jump, traded in her old phone before this whole recall business and got the Note 7. If the phone gets officially recalled and she turns it in, will her jump be reset due to the recall?

my coworker who ordered directly from samsung.com just got his phone today... This leads me to think that the new units will start trickling in as I'm sure this is from the new batches. It also leads me to think that s Samsung knew about this much earlier than we thought
How true is this?

Well going off of what was posted his may be an old one that would need to be replaced as it doesn't have the markings of the new stock... This of course makes no sense unless it has been on the slow boat for 2.5 weeks

Guys I decided I will likely get the Iphone now. If I order the Tmobile version from Apple directly to pick up at the store in a few weeks is all I have to do is remove my SIm in my S7 and pop it in the new iphone? Do I have to notify Tmobile I have a new IMEI?

You're tempting me to do that too lol. That iPhone looks really nice but there's some things about it that bug me. I'm so used to Android and using the Google apps that I don't think I would adapt.

The latest official Statements from Samsung suggest that this weekend or the week of September 12th carriers and partners should have new Galaxy Note 7 units to give customers, as they trade in defective units. That’s only for those that bought the Note 7, and we’ve yet to hear when it will go back on sale for the general public.

To confirm is tmobile allowing refunds still for the device even if you don't want a new phone at all? Verizon I heard will only allow swaps now I'm hearing. I might go this weekend to return the note 7 and order iphone tonight.

Yes. T-Mobile will allow a full refund. You must go into a store to do it though.

I returned my phone on Tuesday for a full refund.

No carrier should be able to refuse a refund. The item is defective and Samsung is footing the bill.

Exactly. My tombile store, the only one within 30 miles with me which is at the mall I know will be swamped this weekend so I will wait until Wed to return it but will order Iphone tonight or this weekend even though I know it's backed ordered for at least 2 weeks right now.

With the gubermint getting involved I know we won't have phones for awhile now and it sounds like they might scrap the Note in the US now.

I really hope Samsung just sells an unlocked version after this whole fiasco dies down.

I'm currently back on my old phone, but I need something else. Just don't know what to buy. iPhone 7 isn't an option as it doesn't have a headphone jack.
