??The Official Thread For Questions, Comments, or Concerns about SPB Shell 3D App ??

(Update) - What could cause complications with SPB shell 3D and your device.

Custom ROM or widgets installed to storage card could be the reason.
(rewritten by rush)

However, if neither one is (applicable) then even the tech doesn't have a solution to this problem. Sorry.

When I was talking about 3rd party widgets, I was talking about Fancy Widget, Beautiful Widgets, Pure Messaging Widget, audio widgets, music player widgets, Doggcatcher widget, Business Calendar widget, power control widget. SPB widget alone on the Shell work fine. There is no slow down when using just the SPB's widgets. When I start adding all these other widgets is when the slow down occurs. I have finally decided to only put back a few of my own widgets that are necessary, FW, PowerControl, audio manager, music and Doggcatcher and Pure Messanger. As of now, only a slight delay, but seems a lot better. I have a stock EVO 4G with Froyo. The reformat of the phone and only loading certain widgets has seem to make it run smoother.

SPB Shell 3D Widgets and Android Widgets are the only kind of Widgets that were made to be used on this launcher. Any other 3rd party Widgets will most likely cause conflicts.

The problem is you can't use sense widgets, there is only a few android widgets(music, picture frame, etc) and not a lot of SPB widgets. So without those other widgets, it makes SPB almost useless, unless you have those other widgets. Even the Voicemail widget has problems, seems to always disappearing. Don't get me wrong, I like SPB Shell 3D, but widgets are what make Android great. To not be able to use these widgets, that are made for Android, and work on every other Home Launcher and Sense, is not in the best interest for SPB. They need to improve their allocation of memory to make everything run smooth.

You're so right about that... I've spoken to the technician that I'm working with and conveyed all noted messages/complaints to him.

SPB are working on providing more Widgets in future updates. What I do is.. I find alternative ways of making other available features work for me. There are just a few Sense Widgets that I really used anyway, so I can surely work around not using them for the time being. Those other launchers do they have all HTC sense Widgets available on them? I'm sure that eventually all SPB shell 3d users will be overwhelmed by what they can do with this launcher.

I guess there hasn't been any updates in a while. Waiting patiently for the next update of the Shell with hopefully fixes, new widgets and better 3rd party widget support(scrolling maybe).

No update and the 3D eye candy is now dated and that lack of functionalities of SPB SHELL 3D is more apparent. 95% of people who rated the App 4-5 stars in the market have since downgraded their ratings to 1 star and it seems SPB doesn't give s $ht about their customers. I jumped and purchased the app after months of waiting for it and very disappointed at lack of support from SPB. Imagine the size of bucket $15 will fetch at KFC ;)

Pretty awesome update!

What's in this version:
Free widget placement (to enable this option after upgrade, set "Auto Arrange" to "No" in Home settings)
Live wallpaper support
3D birthday widget
3D scrolling in program list
All day events support
Redesigned calendar panel
Stability bug fixes
Performance improvements

Nice little update which means little to different users. For me (HTC Droid Incredible) and what I need which is mainly scrollable widget functionality, the updates did nothing for me. I was hoping for the ability to add scrollable widgets and lots of SPB widgets.
You guys noticed the new 3D App drawer, is that thing horrendous or what? They should take a look at ADW layout.
** I didn't notice any changes in Calendar panel- None what so ever.

Flicker Panel - Anyone found the Flicker panel useful? What re you folks doing with that? Any way to replace the pictures on the panel with personal photos?

Anyone else seeing really jerky animation with the new 3D app drawer? Also I get widget image degradation pretty bad too. Much worse than ADW or Launcher Pro and is really apparent on darker widgets.

The calendar widget made the actual calendar smaller but gave me more events listed in the bottom part of the widget AFTER the update. I do not like this as I prefer the larger calendar with my cataracts. At any rate the app drawer is interesting to say the least.

I've not tested it with Live Wallpaper as yet, but am curious. I do know I do not like HTC's stock home replacement anymore and will go back to SPB Shell in a few mins. I used the HTC to look at how cool Symphony of Colors Live Wallpaper is. Can't wait to get a purple theme going.

Rushrl - how do you go back and forwards for Home Replacements once you set one of them as the default? As in I set SPB as the default but wanted to go to HTC and forgot how to make that change. Hope you understand my question.

Quite simple: •>> From your home screen press menu, applications, manage applications, select the launcher in question, then select clear defaults.

Sorry I took so long to respond •> I was on a hiatus. :-D. I'm back now.

@ orjense •> What you seek is being worked on. (That much I was told)

I notice this too. Feels more artificial than anything else.

Updates are inevitable. SPB are working on bringing some of the most requested features in future updates. (Rewritten by Rushrl)

Ahhhhhhhhhhh... thank you. Not that I would ever thin of doing so but... ;-)

Hope your hiatus was restful and all that good stuff!! Have a fab day!!

PS - I was in my T-Mo location with my fav T-Mo rep showing Shell off. One of the other reps whipped his phone, think it's a MT4G as well, out to get it and then when I told him the cost, he put it right back in his pocket. It was like 6 of them plus their manager and they all loved it. The manager is a she.
