Thunderbolt Pre Announcement Waiting Room & Availability Thread.

Same guy who got fired from Motorola likely runs their twitter account. The one who told devs to buy other hardware if they don't like locked down bootloaders.

Yeah who reviews that stuff before they post it? Really? You control the conversation and not your customers? Most assinine thing I have ever heard from customer service.

If the horse is dead, get off. I think the 24th is a dead horse/

I think the 4G to 3G switching is a dead horse along with any 4G phone on Verizon for months. Sad, just so sad. How the hell could they be touting it at CES and be dumb enough to say Q1 if they were still having issues? HTC sold the phones and Verizon has them to deal with. If its the network then Verizon is on the hook.

Off topic: It's sad Moto takes that route. They make really good devices, that are incredibly strong physically (even though they tend to be plastic, they can take a beating) as well as specs. Oh well!

Once again. This is why I don't ever believe anything Miami says. The guy is a walking lie.

I have to say that is pretty harsh unless you know him personally. I don't, but I have read enough of what he posts to know the info he gets has been good and anything in life can change in an instant. No one can predict the future, and your attitude will only serve to keep others like Miami from offering their info up at all.

This is a forum for those who are interested, enthusiasts and are willing to take that leap on inside intel. It is not anyone's fault other than Big Red Verizon.

VZW has been good to me. So I'll not bash them at all. I emailed them a while ago to ask if they could change my NE2 date up so I could get the Droid X. This is before I decided on the TB.

The rep emailed back, moved my NE2 up a month. He just called today to ask if I needed help ordering the Droid X. I told him I appreciate his service and that I'm waiting for TB

So, while this release is frustrating, I still have only good things to say about VZW. Their customer service has always been helpful and nice. Plus good coverage.

I have no complaints either. Oh, except for the time I upgraded phones and they removed my calling plan for a month. Got a bill for 700+ minutes at $0.40/min. Only took them 3 weeks and 7 calls to fix it. FAIL.

For what it's worth, I called the New Tampa Verizon store in Tampa, FL and asked if the Tbolt would be available tomorrow.

Without hesitation, the guy said to come back on Monday morning, the 28th as that was the official release date. He did say "as of now, the release date is the 28th". Not sure if that was to leave open the door for another delay.

The fact that he did not hesitate and sounded enthused about the 28th makes me believe him.

Monday it is!

For the first time when I went to BB's page and typed in ThunderBolt instead of just getting movies and other crap with that in the name, at the top of the page was the phone and Coming Soon. While nothing more than we had seconds ago, BB has not shown anything on their site before either.

My Corporate Store reps sounded pretty damn excited about the 11th when they told me that date as well... :-\

Because the issues were largely related to hardware that the Bolt doesn't use. The handoff issue is one that anyone with a brain could have expected; LTE and CDMA are too different for it to be easy at first. I think they had a relatively good solution for it, but they decided they needed to refine it more before they released it to the public.

wow, so professional of them

give em a round of applause guys!

(yeah right)

I saw that and thought the same. I was totally behind them because they personally hadn't released a date and perhaps BBY jumped the gun but that tweet was so *******-ish. I would rather they didn't respond at all then say something like that.

Well its a good thing they didn't anticipate it or build it into their timeline... because then they might have forecasted their release better

What happened to dude with the pics of the shirt they have to wear allegedly on Monday for the release?

So, around 7 pm eastern tonight, my phone shows that I received an email from Verizon-Notification with the part of the subject that i could see right away stated "Your Wait for the Verizon ". I got all excited thinking this was finally the Thunderbolt announced. Turns out once I opened it up it was for my Verizon FIOS dvr. I think someone over at Verizon has a sick sense of humor.

I sent an e-mail to VZW and actually got a response pretty quick. It was funny, she tried to blame Best Buy for their ad, saying "they did list the device but did not list a release date". Hello? Not listing a date in the ad means its available. Is that really how they justify it? She also said it would be out in Q1 so I would have it "very soon". Like another month of this is really soon? I almost hope it gets pushed back til April so they would actually have to answer up to something.

Ya I see no reasoning behind the tweet, all it did was rile people up more lol.. Ah well, verizon continues to amaze me with how badly they have handled this launch.

LOL! I'd probably throw my phone through the wall.

BMX stated a week or so back that the LTE Hand off has been fixed...However, he has eluded to. Making a Data call and your device rebooting itself since the network cant handle the stress.

So, I'm they might be trying to refine the hand off a little more and I think the Data/Skype issue is there with the network and they have to fix that. Let me tell you thats a huge selling point to these phones doing video conferencing calls.

sigh......
