Thunderbolt Pre Announcement Waiting Room & Availability Thread.

Figured I would call a buddy of mine that works in corporate sales for Cellular Sales (partially owned by VZW). He said that they have NO phones in stock.

Take the rest of this with a grain of salt......
He said they were "expected" to get their shipment on Monday 2/28, but had no idea when they would be released. We discussed battery life and he mentioned that being an HTC phone it wouldn't be impressive. I mentioned the 2gen processor and he said it had a dual core processor (remember the grain of salt thingy????). In other words, I probably know more about this phone and it's release than he does.......and that isn't much at all.....

I wouldn't take shipments as an indication. Some stores get there shipments the day before or even that morning depending on schedules and weather conditions.

Didn't read the thread, but everyone should get off Phil's case. Verizon was targeting today to get the phone released, but the network simply isn't ready. I've known for several days that the phone wasn't dropping today. Just be patient everyone, we all want a phone that actually works.

Im certain what happened is that Phil's source said the 24th. And that ws indeed the date. But then it got delayed. I think everyones beef with phil is the way he made his own thread because he was so sure he source was right, then did not post any new info. Me personally i don't care because all rumors were crap, but others are very irked by it and i do get why.

just got off the phone with BB... of course they don't have the phone (shocker!). But he did say the free buy back is till the 28th. He's supposed to have a manager call me later today b/c I want to ask about the $249 vs $299 price and if the phone comes after the free buy back period is over I am going to try to have them grandfather me into the $249 price with a free buy back. If not, then there's no point in keeping my preorder with BB.

Salt in the wounds: HTC retweeted Sprint's announcement for the HTC Arrive today. "What you?ve been waiting for ? the new Windows Phone 7 from Sprint, the HTC Arrive, is coming March 20."

I doubt HTC will be retweeting any Verizon Wireless announcements for the Thunderbolt though. <sigh />

Please let us know what you hear. I agree that there is little point to a pre-order with Best Buy Mobile and the free Buy Back program if the ThunderBolt does not come out before or on the 28th.

It's the simple fact of confidence and cockiness that his source is rock solid. All the frustration and craziness you're seeing right now over this stupid thing is because of those types of statements... plain & simple. In this case, it back fired and as a site owner, dis credits his info, source, or whoever gave him that info. Less of these threads (especially by the website owner) of a pretty populated sites need to knock this stuff off and 1- get better sources or 2- don't post anything at all.

Next time, he shouldn't swallow his food before it's chewed. Just my 2 cents.
