Thunderbolt Pre Announcement Waiting Room & Availability Thread.

Lol then we can say TBolt first reported the TB would be out the 14th. Maybe you should get a twitter account and post inside info lmao

I changed the title of this thread to avoid misleading people. Historically, Verizon store employees are no more informed about release dates than us customers. Confirmation is when Verizon makes an official announcement via a press release.

This is a very good point since I have been told so many different things by the VZW employees at my local store that until it is sitting on their shelf, then I beleive it.

Stephanie: My pleasure, I am Very sorry that you were told that, we just found out today of the day it comes out.

Bradley: i just want to know the release date

Stephanie: 2-14-2011

Bradley: where does it say on that link when it comes out?

Stephanie: They have changed that it says it it did say it in the first sentence, now it just says in 2011, However I am sure it comes out on that date

Bradley: you are 100% sure

Bradley: ?

Stephanie: Yes

then a little bit later

Stephanie: I understand, However It will be out on 2-14-2011 and there will be information on the site before it comes out

this is what i got....

Here's a chat I just had with a Verizon employee; ME= me and VE is Verizon Employee.

Please hold for a Verizon Wireless sales representative to assist you with your order. Thank you for your patience.

A Verizon Wireless online pre-sales specialist has joined the chat. You are now chatting with Jeff

VE: Hello. Thank you for visiting our chat service. May I help you with your order today?

ME: Hey VE, I was wondering if you might have a release date for the Tunderbolt???

VE: Feb 14th.

ME: Online or at stores?

ME: Perfect way to say I love me lol

VE: Both.

VE: Good idea.

ME: Awesome you're the BEST!!!!!

Ok, I think I've decided to get this phone instead of the Driod X or Bionic.

Is this a good starter Android and will it be good for two years?

Definitely pick HTC sense over blur, thats a must. Blur is terrible!

I noticed your profile says you geocache! Me tooo! Do you cache a lot? If so an android phone will be your savior! I used to cache with my garmin, now all I use is my Droid1 and soon to be TBolt!

By far the best geocaching application is "c:geo."

I really like the look of sense over blur. Though I never used an HTC.

Yes, I geocache a lot (SeekerOfTheWay). I used to use my BlackBerry and Geocache Navigator but now I use a Garmin Colorado 400t for caching in the woods!

A caching buddy of mine has c:geo app on his Android and it's awesome! I'm def going to get that on my HTC!

Very cool! My caching profile is vdefender also. I saw you're up to 12 FTF's! Verrry nice! I just grabbed my 16th last week! Though You have found a quite a few more caches than I have. I've been so busy with college, it just hasn't been my year for the sport. I graduate in June though so hopefully that means I will be caching a lot more.

The best part about android and c:geo is definitely having new cache notifications set up to go to my gmail which gets pushed to my phone nearly instantly, at that point, when you click on the link to "view cache..." it will pop up and ask if you want to open the link in the browser, OR directly into c:geo. Within 10 seconds of getting a notification, I can have my map up and I'm Auto routing.

I've been eyeballing that 400t! I currently have a rhino 120, which has been great for snowmobiling and communication. But I need something new.

I guess this is all way offtopic ;) I'll pull it back on topic with: I'm pretty confident the TBolt will drop the 14th!

Isn't the Rhino the GPS with the walkie on it?! My friend, Willow, and her hubby use that one and the radio feature is awesome!

I have more than 12 FTF but I stopped listing them. I don't go for those as much anymore. I like doing longer hiking caches!

If the TB gets released on the 14th, why isn't it announced by VZW yet?

They will soon. What was the lead time on iPhone? 3 weeks? And that's a HUGE release. Thunderbolt is much smaller, will attract far fewer adopters, so why would it need a huge run up?
