Thunderbolt Pre Announcement Waiting Room & Availability Thread.

Hi all, first post here , came over here from Phandroid. I have been following this forum for awhile now and finally decided to post. I may be a little pessimistic here, but the 13th is a Sunday. Have they ever released a phone on Sunday? I have seen them come out on Thursdays (like Feb 11th) or on Mondays (like Feb 14th), but I don't recall them ever launching a new phone on Sunday. Could it be this is a canned answer they're giving to get people off the phone? Anyone care to comment?

P.S. I have been told a few times by CSRs & a few techs that until the 4G network is built out they will not change the unlimited data plans.

Can't a brotha dream?

Feb 24th?

This is from android guys.
HTC Thunderbolt Dropping on Feb 24th ? AndroidGuys

We just got word from one of our guys indicating Verizon is releasing the Thunderbolt on February 24th. Our source was not able to confirm pricing , but we're hearing $249 with a two-year contract. Sounds about right for the first phone on Big Red to offer 4G speeds and simultaneous voice and data. Most of the upper echelon phones dance around the $200 price point, rarely going over. Anyone interested in picking one of these up come next month

I'm calling out Verizon now... I did the same thing as many of you are now doing in calling Verizon to ask for info. Except I was calling about their policy change in regards to doing away with the annual upgrades. We had all read that Verizon was going to be doing away with this on Jan. 16... well leading up to that date I was calling Verizon reps every couple of days to confirm that's what they were doing. EVERY SINGLE REP that I spoke with said that they either 1) have heard nothing about that policy change or 2) it was only bloggers running with a fake story and it wouldn't happen. So what happens the 16th? They ended the annual upgrade. I'm sorry for being pessimistic but I'm telling you now that even though we are all being told they will NOT have an additional fee for 4G service... they will! I have no proof or credible sources... just a consumer that knows if Verizon CAN charge for something, they WILL!

panda is still saying more than $10/mo and that pricing won't be available until device launch.

I say we all do mass chats with verizon to try to find out pricing. maybe one of them will let it slip lol

Well don't use this as a gurantee but i work at best buy(customer service) so i decided to take a trip over to mobile to ask a few questions.

I first asked if i get an employee discount because i will be paying full retail on the device and it would help. He told me yes, so anyone else who works at BB, your in luck if you werent sure lol.

Then he asked me for which phone, i said the Thunderbolt, he said oh yea that phones looks pretty nice.

Then i spoke with another rep, i asked him about full retail pricing, he said they will vary. I then asked him did he know when it was coming out. He said soon, in a few weeks. "Right after the iphone launch i believe"

Side note: He said he is every excited about the phone himself, and said yesterday a guy came in, who was supposed to do some teaching on some phone called the snap, and received a text. He pull a TB OUT HIS POCKET. My buddy said hey what is that, and the guy quickly put it away. After a few minuted of smooth talking, he let him try it. And he said it was awesome.

So theres my story for the day lol

Hello guys, new to the boards.

I actually got in this situation today at work. We are still evaluating tablets and all so we had a Verizon rep in to talk about the Xoom (played with a prototype of that, quite awesome btw) and I started to mention LTE/4G and TB to the rep on the side and she was general with her information. Before she left I saw her check her phone for the first time, noticed it was a TB. Of course I had to point it out, she smiled and let me hold it and such.

I didn't get to play with the phone though but holding it was great :)
