I still see no reason the VZW can't release its own phone 3 days before it goes to other markets.
Granted, I won't be surprised if it's Valentine's Day, and I'm not saying that it WON'T be, but I'm still going in to the store on the 11th, just to make sure.
Unless I hear/see an announcement explicitly stating another release date.
BB employees don't get inside info early. I know someone that works there (in mobile) and they ask me about what's coming.
It is one of the better departments to work in though. Who wouldn't want to work with this stuff?
Yea i know. My buddy said they usually just have someone come and train them on it when the launch date is near. He is active around blogs and forums so he knows about the phone though.
so i decided i would give the chat another go since i got almost nowhere yesterday. needless to say i thought my first attempt would go the same way but what was almost a disappointment turned into a nice chat with the vz rep about the thunderbolt. they constantly asked why i was so interested in the device and told me what they liked about it. the question of data plans also came up. i am currently on an unlimited data, text, video plan and asked if i switched to the thunderbolt would this be the same with no extra charges, and was told it would absolutely be the same price. By the end of the chat they told me my faith in HTC was justifiably placed and that I will LOVE (yes in caps) the thunderbolt, suggesting this particular rep has already gotten a chance to work with the phone and was impressed by it, although i didn't get a release date they told me they had a feeling i would be enjoying my new phone soon
from what vz reps have told us via chats, it seems as though those of us that already have smartphones/$30 a month paks will be grandfathered in and the price won't change.
what about those of us (aka me lol) that don't currently have smartphones? do you think the price will still be 30, or increased?

I doubt they would make it different for other customers. My guess is they allow people to get a taste of the speed of 4g for no extra cost. Then when it becomes more available, maybe next year, they will start charging more. That's fine as long as they don't add a cap to it.
One thing i noticed he said in the video was that it has an aluminum unibody contruction. So is that like the MacBooks? Lmao is this thing gonna be metal?

iv said the same thing. i really think the early adopters esp with thunderbolt can lock in that unlimited data. its there way of testing it out an seeing how much does a user really use. an lets us enjoy or complain about speeds. ill be there day one with my wife for a family plan. hopefully is V-day so i can gift us both lol
