I do like this new renamed forum though. You know it could be called "Thunderbolt Purgatory to get to Availability Thread" - or something like stated above, the "Thunderbolt Pre Announcement Pit of Death Availability Thread"

I just keep waiting and watching my storm 1 biodegrade...

Contract comes up in June...wife and I are already eligible for upgrade....Part of me is thinking.....I am not burning the upgrade on a phone when I can wait 60-90 (assuming phone comes out some point in March) more days and get any phone I want on any carrier I want...so that is my dilemma...do I have the patience to wait a mere 60-90 days to have my pick of the entire litter? After reading everyone's posts they kept saying...yea but you have to leave LTE speeds...but right now I am wondering if that is the actual problem!

Well, I think I've posted this here before, but Verizon loves to wait until the last possible minute and then say "See? WE DID IT" Droid X 2.2 release was scheduled for "Summer" It released on the last CALENDAR day of summer, September 22nd. 3/31/11 is a Thursday AND the last day of Q1. I think they release it that day and then break their arms patting themselves on the back "See? Q1!!! WE DID IT!!" Of course, they could use their other method, which is to say "Coming soon" for 6 months, like they have done with the Fascinate 2.2 update. Either way, I don't expect to see this phone until I've put my winter coat in the storage closet.

we'll never find out the cause of delay, if we did, we'd find out just how bad of a company verizon is...

simply put, im willing to bet that over 50% of the ppl in the US go to work to pay their bills, not make a difference in what they do... as such, the ppl working at VZW will be no different, laziness and overall last minute screwups is probably what leads to these recurring delays ^^... add that to overzealous bosses who want to do the impossible, and we have a good idea of what's going on, heh

correction: over zealous CEOs/C-other executives, as we all know, they just say whatever they want, and those that work for them... well, they're the ones that have to make the magic happen... [not saying C-class executives didnt get to where they were without working their asses off, just saying that the perspective changes when they get there... heh]

Just a quick story about going to Verizon today (don't we love these):

Today was the last day of my 14 day return so I went to exchange this Fascinate for an iPhone so I could sell it for the Tbolt whenever it comes out. They said they didn't have any iPhones, but she could order one for me and even though it's outside the 14 days, they'd still exchange it. While she was getting my info, I saw a dummy Tbolt so I asked if I could play with it (some sick kid was trying to play with it too, but I wasn't trying to get sick). I told her I really was waiting for it, and she said she'd heard it may come out next week (not really holding my breath, but whatever). She said if she heard about it shipping or coming in, or if my iPhone came in next week, she'd call me

So now I'll either have an iPhone for a shorter amount of time, or go straight to the Tbolt which would save me a whole bunch of trouble

i haven't heard anything different thus far from my store, The 28th is still the day. Accessories galore for it as well. I truly think its, because of skype and they don't wan to release a phone thats not fully functional. I mean, Who cares about video chat, i think its dumb and i also think facetime is dumb.

If it's a business decision, maybe in two weeks. But I'm betting a technical issue is delaying it which means it's up in the air.

I don't think you can file this under false advertising or messing up a launch date, since one hasn't been officially given. Any date that has ever been mentioned has been rumors and/or speculation. Nothing has ever come from Verizon, so I personally don't think it's fair to hold it against Verizon. They haven't set an expectation regarding a specific date, therefore haven't failed to meet said date. If anything, the increase of the TB commercials is a good sign, I guess. Does this suck - sure, but I think we're doing it to ourselves holding our breath every time a new date is RUMORED as the possible launch date, then getting all upset with Verizon when that date comes & goes. Makes no sense to me. Until Verizon says something, it's all b.s., IMO.
