Thunderbolt Pre Announcement Waiting Room & Availability Thread.

My only question/worry is whether they are going to come out with the new tiered data plans with the launch of the TB, especially since this sale is also advertising the $29.99 unlimited data plan.

I agree. However if Skype is seriously the issue, and the knowledge becomes public, I'll be pissed. At no one in particular, but for a feature I have no intentions of using to be holding this phone of my reach... you can see the frustration.

Especially when it can go out as an OTA update in a couple weeks or so...

I like to know this as well. But my decision will be simple. If it's $0.01 more then $29.99 then I am going elsewhere. There is no way in the world I am paying anything more then $29.99 for phone data.

Well what would you expect them to advertise? You need a data plan to have a smartphone. From everybody's understanding so far the unlimited data for LTE is going to be the same price. I mean LTE data on the data sticks is the same price as data on EVDO data cards/sticks. O.G. Incredible has also stated that they were told at the launch event that LTE data would be the same price.

Some people are really starting to read too much into the most mundane things. Again, a smartphone requires a data plan and right now the only plans they have are the $29.99 and the $44.99 plans.

Ehh I'd say no, you should prolly check out the HTC Merge that was just announced today - it's a CDMA "world phone."

Welp. I went into the verizon store today and was talking to a rep there. I was talking about how my phone was all broke. Then I said im waiting for the Thunderbolt to release. He says it should be here on the 28th. So, im gonna stick with the 28th til it comes.

I just went to youtube and looked under the verizon wireless page ... and uh-oh all the thunderbolt commercials have been removed 0_o


for some proof, I managed to do a thunderbolt search and found the one with the girl counting mississippi's and it is listed by verizon wireless well just click for yourself to see what happens

WTF?!?! You're right. No Thunderbolt commercials on Verizon's youtube account.

VZW is screwing up the launch of their best phone of 2011 by not informing the public of a release date. All of us are willing customers that would buy this phone at $300 if VZW would announce a date. This is all a joke and best buy is getting the sausage from verizon. Best buy needs to just shut up and wait until VZW announces a release date. I may end up buying this phone only because I am not impressed with any other upcoming releases...IF THE THUNDERBOLT IS EVER RELEASED!
