Thunderbolt Pre Announcement Waiting Room & Availability Thread.

I am having a very bizarre chat w/ a verizon rep right now:

Brandon: Hello. Thank you for visiting our chat service. May I help you with your order today?

Brandon: In an effort to better assist you are you an existing customer?

Jordan: Yes I am

Brandon: How can I assist you this evening?

Jordan: I would like to upgrade to a new phone

Brandon: I would be glad to assist you in upgrading to a new phone.

Brandon: Have you selected a phone to upgrade to?

Jordan: And in today's Best Buy ad I saw a phone called the HTC Thunderbolt for verizon

Jordan: I want this phone

Brandon: the thunderbolt hasn't currently been released it would be released on tomorrow but I would be glad to assist you in upgrading to another phone.

Jordan: It will be released tomorrow?

Brandon: What key features in a cell phone are most important to you?

Jordan: I live in San Francisco and was told there would be 4g coverage here

Brandon: Yes that is correct it isn't currently being offered until tomorrow.

Jordan: That is why I am interested in the Thunderbolt

Jordan: The ad claimed it will be 4g, is this correct?

Brandon: Yes the thunderbolt would be a 4G phone.

Jordan: Do you have any information regarding 4g data plans?

Jordan: Will it remain 29.99 like I am paying now?

Brandon: Currently you would be able to keep your current data plan of $29.99 for unlimited data.

Jordan: So will I be able to get this phone from a Verizon Wireless store tomorrow?

Brandon: Yes that is correct.

Jordan: Okay then I will wait until tomorrow...thank you for your help

See the screenshot showing msrp on thunderbolt is 615 and is listed as 'droid thunderbolt'? Weird.

Uh, no, yo're dead wrong. The Xperia play, Droid 3, Droid X2, and HTC Incredible 2 will all be 3G. Blackberries (including the new high-end blackberries) will be 3G only.

There are only three 4G phones on the horizon, and there won't be many more than that for a long time. Verizon's network is still very, very new, and there won't be widespread adoption of phones with 4G for some time to come.

my bad, but iPhone 4 is still not worth it

Yeah. Can't imagine verizon releasing a phone without announcing the date. It would be really strange if it just showed up in stores, but I highly doubt that. Hopefully we will get a preorder tomorrow or at least a release date.

Depends what you want. I got the iPhone 4, but I might swap it for a thunderbolt if it comes out before the 25th. Either way, I know I'll have a phone I like.
