Thunderbolt Pre Announcement Waiting Room & Availability Thread.

Verizon rep called me today and said there wouldn't be a MIR on this phone and he believes it could be $200 from Verizon for 2 yr. I don't know if these guys truly know either way, but that's good news for both.

I highly doubt HTC's presser will have anything to do with Verizon's announcement of the phone. I'm assuming we'll hear something early this week though.

Perhaps... but HTC wants to see the devices sell... so why not leverage an event like this? (even though not as impressive as CES)

Because they've already announced it and as far as they are concerned Verizon has to deal with the launch. I wouldn't expect HTC to announce details on something they've already announced, ya know?

Went in to my VZW store today for an unrelated issue. Asked about the TB. I told them i heard it was pushed back from the 17th (last week in same store i was told it would be here on the 17th). The reps said they had not heard anything and were still expecting to have it Thursday the 17th. I told them my sons Birthday was on the 17th and that was going to be his gift. They looked in the computer and said they couldn't find ANYTHING on the TB. The asked who had told me it was pushed back. I just told them it was all over the internet. 2 reps looked again and said the weren't seeing anything in the system.
I told them sarcasticly that i would just get him the iphone.... they both laughed and told me that i should definately NOT do that.

The Droid X reportedly won't have an LTE radio in it. Obviously things can change, but I don't think it'll be the only one.

I guess that depends on what your definition of Major smartphone is. The Incredible 2 is going to be 3g only (from the what we are hearing) and Im sure there are a few others that will not be 4g that would be considered major smartphones being released this year.

the best part on htc 4g lineup is ther is still only 1 image of the bolt. an you cant compare it. tho all the other phones u can....odd. the phone is a redheaded step child

Holyoke Mall. They were all very quite about the TB. I was at the Hadley store yesterday and got the same response.....nothing.

Uh, no, yo're dead wrong. The Xperia play, Droid 3, Droid X2, and HTC Incredible 2 will all be 3G. Blackberries (including the new high-end blackberries) will be 3G only.

There are only three 4G phones on the horizon, and there won't be many more than that for a long time. Verizon's network is still very, very new, and there won't be widespread adoption of phones with 4G for some time to come.

yea i agree. i think we will see these 4g phones hold strong until holidays. poss next ces. esp with droid 3, droidx2 an dinc2 not being 4g. im just super stoked n carolina will be coverd this year in 4g
