Have any new phones been released on Verizon on any day other than a Thursday in the last 3 years? Just wondering.

I too was just given solid information from VZW. I can't say how I came upon these dates... but I can tell you it doesn't come from an ill informed friend and wasn't corroborated by a monkey throwing darts at a calendar.

HTC Thunderbolt- 2/15
Moto Xoom- 3/13
Samsung LTE Hotspot: 3/20

I don't see any reason not to release the Xoom and TBolt on the same day.

No way that the Xoom gets close to even what iPhone had for release day "hype"

For an Android phone your answer is no they all have been released on a Thursday that is why I'm sticking with the 24th. If its released earlier I promise not to complain.

Maybe they knew the Ally would be a huge flop and that's why they released it Monday?

Just spoke with a verizon rep at the mall and this is what I got out of them:

-To my surprise, the rep flat out told me the delay was because of the iphone
-he said they are expecting shipments soon and are going to sell them anytime between the 19th-28th.
-he took down my name and number and said he would call me once the system displays a firm release date and he will have two set aside for me

I then asked about 4G prices and got this out of him

-4G wont be functional at launch
-He said if I buy the phone a few months later I can buy a 4g activation kit, which will be a sim card for the 4G service sent in the mail
-4G data will be an additional cost on top of the $30/month unlimited 3G
-it will be tiered pricing, no unlimited option

Doubt most of this will come to fruition. 4G won't be functional at launch when they're advertising it as the 1st verizon 4g phone?! Learned not to trust vzw reps.

I was just given these dates by someone who is familiar with the calendar -- 2/16, 4/25, and 5/18. Just to confirm, these are all dates, and I have verified they are on my calendar.
