My thoughts exactly. For what its worth, local BB also got an email from their rep this morning corroborating the dates. Can any bbm employees confirm?

It makes sense because HTC CEO Peter Chou said himself that HTC will began shipping Thunderbolt this week.

I just got a call from BB corporate saying that Verizon delayed the launch (obviously) and that it was pushed back to the 24th. I had emailed them asking them if I could cancel my preorder and purchase somewhere else if I am going out of town during the release and she said yes.

So I seriously doubt we'll be seeing anything along the likes of the 17th or 21st. Looks like the 24th for sure, coming from corporate.

They haven't even shipped from China yet. How can they be instock at bestbuy? I"m sure we would have seen pics from a bestbuy employee if that was the case.

I took a little trip to my local Verizon store an this is what they said:

All of the employees are leaning toward the 24th but the 17th or the 21st are possible.

The price will probable be $250.

Talked to my VZW store and they said "end of the month" but that's just an "internet rumor".

My local Best Buy is now saying the 24th (on Sunday they were saying the 17th).

What date Verizon will announce Thunderbolt date

We have all heard dates of actual launch. What do you think will be the date they will announce the launch date of Thunderbolt?
Only one date per person please and no other discussion, just simple date and move on.

If you are correct, you get to say I told you so!

Who said they had to ship from HTC's China headquarters ? I took Chou's statement to mean they could very well already be in warehouses in the US somewhere, and will begin shipping them to VZW & BB stores.

They certainly aren't in stock at any BB's right now. That info is completely bogus.

I just called China and asked when the Thunderbolt would be shipping, they told me immediately and they are using new technology like Star Trek's transporters to beam them to stockrooms of Best Buys all around the country. They said this has started already. I then called Verizon and Best Buy on a conference call where the agreement was that thunderbolt would launch, I was also assured of what this weeks lotto numbers were, but I won't be sharing those here.


C'mon guys, do we really need to repeat adnauseum that some people think this thing will be released on the 24th, or 17th, or some other date, that none of us have solid proof of except for these "people in the know"?

they won't officially announce anything. They will just change the website so they are availble for purchase the day they are ready to start selling them.
