Thunderbolt Pre Announcement Waiting Room & Availability Thread.

Some of you guys are way too hopeful. god bless you all. Like any other product, there would have been a company memo for the release. Word of advice, don't lock the 24th in your head either... simply because Verizon hasn't announced it yet. Another tip, don't believe blogger sites, just sit back and eat popcorn until VZ says you can come get the phone now.

Just tryn' to help

I was at the VZW store last night getting a case for my wifes iPhone (please no comments, sick of all the poop talk) and asked the guy about the TBolt. He said that it would be released within the next two weeks and sounded pretty sure of it. Looked to be a manager. So I asked what he thought about the qty in stores. He hasn't heard anything about that either but would say that if it is like all other droid releases they will probably have 10 to 30 on hand and it is what it is when you get there. And wasn't sure about what the opening time would be at. So thats all I got.

Later,
Brandon

Seems very strange to me that if that were the case (release today) that there would have been some kind of advertising campaign.

I'm going nuts because I can barely get on the Internet with my Storm1, page to page is excruciatingly slow and many times all I get is a white screen. It's awful and I'm sooooooo hoping that even tho I don't have 4G in this area that a new Android is going to make a huge difference in this even at 3G speeds.

They have had an advertising campaign, though. There are banners on AC and there have been TV commercials for the last few days. Not exactly Droid-level dollars being spent, but an advertising campaign nonetheless.

agreed, i cant wait to see the money spent on droid bionic. that thing is gonna be everywhere.

"It's almost like there's a plan".

called local best buy, they dont have it

if anything best buy absolutely deserves to get the sh!t smacked out of them over this product launch.

they took pre-orders without a rock solid release date, product price info (what leaked doesn't count as an announcement), or 4G data plans.

what a joke, complete fail for verizon and best buy

well 3 days until the 17th (our next rumored date) then 7 days from that until the 24th...its gunna be a Looooooong week+

Look at the good things because they haven't marketed well like no lines at Verizon or Best Buy when the phone is launched.

I predict they start marketing the hell out of it some time in the next week. Don't know if it will change anything...

I'm also disgusted...Best Buy is (apparently) marking the Thunderbolt up $100 - $150...which, by the way, I might have been willing to pay had I gotten my hands on it EARLY. But if they have it the same day as VZW, and we don't even know what day that is yet (but it's not today)...wtf am I paying Best Buy more for?

Yeah...I'm actually getting irritated enough here I may wait this one out and see what the Bionic has to offer. Too bad froyo on my Fascinate is thus far a fail (unreliable bluetooth connection, drains battery so much it's unusable...keeps losing my home screen icon configurations....etc.).

Don't forget the d2g that just snuck its way online without any advertising at all

Totally! I don't know why they even bothered with some of these phones. Lot's of potential had they marketed some of them properly. Then there are phones like the TB that will prevail despite poor marketing. This phone is unstoppable.

i just joined today so i can gripe, i have the droid og and i loved that phone, but this thunderbolt is amazing. the marketing or the so called non marketing for this phone is really making me .....re-asses if i want to go for it or not.
