Thunderbolt Pre Announcement Waiting Room & Availability Thread.

except we don't know when next HTC phone is coming to VZW and i'll take HTC over the others i really hope phone comes out this week but def starting to doubt it i don't see it being any later than 1st week of march but ya never know either way i'll be at my local VZW store day this drops walkin out with my TB on a 1 year contract and hopefully they'll be a dual core HTC phone out around xmas

I gotta say the new Samsung is quite intriguing (though we don't know 70% of the specs now). But I still want this stupid Thunderbolt so bad on a 1 year.

I already have a case, two screen protectors, and a full body gurad from Phantom skinz for the Bolt. I guess I'm kinda excited.

I have question. The TB doesn't have to HAVE LTE to work? Right? If the phones are ready why not release them and then and then when the LTE network is ready let people with the phones add that feature or it would just start working.
What's the next closest thing to the TB WITHOUT LTE?

I doubt verizon would want to release there first 4g phone without any 4g in place.

Of course I don't know if there's a way of telling if they're display models. I don't know if the real Bolt will have a sticker on the front that is the exact same as the demo models and posted pics online...

Don't know about the Xoom but the Thunderbolt is definitely a display model. If you Google HTC Thunderbolt display, you'll get a "press" image that lists the same temperature, same time, and general same layout as the buttons on the Thunderbolt.

Yeah this really doesn't mean anything unfortunately. Even if the units ARE in stock, if Verizon's LTE network isn't ready they'll be sitting around for a few more days//weeks.

I'm still hoping for Thursday though.

Pretty sure that's just a reflection, but since they both show different times I'm assuming both are display models.

They will not cut you any slack on the date. Can't you just return the iPhone and go back to using your old phone if the Bolt isn't out yet?

I think its a dummy phone. Look at the dates and temp on this one and compare to that one. They are the same.

I think your best bet is to take everything back to Verizon and cancel the contract within the 14-day period, then you can start all over again when the Bolt is out, if it does not come out within the 14-day period. There may be a restocking charge, 'though. If you stay on your contract and sell your new phone on eBay, you're stuck in your contract for 2 years and will have to buy a phone at full retail price.

There's a non-corporate Verizon store near me (Pennington, NJ) that will bend over backwards for people like giving you an old phone as a loaner until the phone you want comes out. But these types of shops are few and far between. The owner is rather creative at finding solutions for people, but the corporate stores never do that kind of thing.

Weren't they bragging about the Thunderbolt's ability to do voice and data over 3G? So yes it will work in a 3G only neighborhood though I couldn't say whether CBMC is correct whether they would sell them in an area that is and will remain 3G for awhile. But even if they didn't send them to the stores (and from a profit point of view it doesn't make sense not to) you could still order one online.
