Thunderbolt Pre Announcement Waiting Room & Availability Thread.

Getting ready to watch the last shuttle launch of the Discovery( @ 4:50pm).Hopefully it will better luck with it's launch than our Bolt has................

Good track record

I work for Radio Shack, my Verizon rep has been in training for this phone all week. The words I wrote came from his mouth. I've been right about everything else I posted on here and have no reason to BS anyone.

I was at Radio Shack 3 days ago....

and was told that Verizon is the only company that they do not carry, therefore get any information on.

I'm in San Diego...so perhaps its different in your locale...but that seems a bit odd to me. Just sayin.

Thats strange because best buy is the only 3rd party selling this phone.

60% of the time he's right all the time.

On a serious note... Did he say Radioshack would be carrying the phone?

All this teasing about speculative release date is SADISTIC!!!! I wish VZW and BB would just tell when we should NOT be expecting the release.

right anything concrete would be nice even if they can't give us a release date they could say it's not this highly rumored date granted most big companies refuse to comment on rumor's so i don't expect it, but it would be nice

I did not know Radio Shack carried any Verizon phones at all let alone Thunderbolt. Besides, wasn't BB supposed to be the only retailers to carry Thunderbolt besides VZW and its authorized resellers?

The OP didn't say that Radio Shack was going to carry the TB, he said that his local VZW rep told him it would be coming out on the 28th. I'm sure his VZW rep doesn't only work with Radio Shack.

If you check his post history he has had some correct inside info before. So I'll give him the benefit of the doubt about the veracity of his claim.

That said, reps have been saying all kinds of things in the last month. It's clear that they are as confused as we are.

Clarification

Because so many folks here know EVERYTHING (detect sarcasm??) let me clarify some statements:

I work "For" Radio Shack, not "At" Radio Shack. I'm in a Target and we are owned and paid by The Shack.

We will not be selling the Thunderbolt, but do share a Verizon rep with Best Buy, who will be.

Check my earlier posts (ya know, the ones where I was dead on) and you can see my emails are the same as the ones other Shack reps get.

trust me about the date! you must! it's coming out 2011!! (i hope)

@OP, no disrespect, i really hope so too! most of us are just tired of all this. let's hope you are correct!

this is like going to an amusement park and being stuck on the same ride out of the many there and always, up & down & up & down

For what it's worth I just noticed a Verizon paid search ad on Google for the Thunderbolt. Up until now only the HTC ad appeared on "HTC Thunderbolt" searches.

Unlike other forms of advertising paid search campaigns can be turned on or off in a matter of minutes so it is interesting that Verizon decided to finally flip the switch now.

I love these young bloods improving their rep on probably the most FUBAR phone release in recent memory. If he gets it right... he's got cred. Gets it wrong... he's just like the rest of us ;)

It could have been planned in advance and scheduled and they were too incompetent to shut it off.

Never assume they have a plan.

99% of the phone-purchasing public doesn't know about this release date drama. So imagine someone goes out on a limb and thinks, "hmm... I'll click on this sponsored link by Verizon and see what's going on with Verizon's first 4G phone."
