Thunderbolt Pre Announcement Waiting Room & Availability Thread.

17th makes sense. And I still believe 10th was the original planned date. But since iPad2 launch was out of VZW's control, they had no choice but to push it back a week.

I really have no choice but to wait, but I really don't understand the reasoning behind this. I mean they are totally different devices. The iPad2 isn't even LTE capable that I know of.

If that is the real reasoning behind the "delay", I will be a little more upset.

Honestly the more we wait the more I think it has to do with trying to hash out pricing and tiered data. I wouldn't be shocked if they suddenly changed their minds and wanted to have to have it all 100% ready.

VZW knew about the 11th date for iPad2 . So if they really moved it internally to the 10th... that's crazy... and stupid if they just end up delaying it.

They probably want us to buy both devices and think it would be easier on our wallets if they spaced the launches a week apart.

Just asked @Sentrix27 about the 17th and the iPad2 and he said it's still the 10th...

I guess we'll just have to wait...and if those rumors about HTC pulling ads on Verizon are true then we may hear something soon...

If you believe "the ad pulling" stuff from Sentrix, it's safe to say that HTC may need VZW more than VZW needs them.

VZW has two confirmed phones coming in the next few/several months for their network. If HTC doesn't want to play nice? Who cares. They'll just shelve the phone or give it zero fan fare and throw their weight behind Moto and Sammy.

FWIW I work for an Airline whose Hub is in Newark, NJ and I sometimes get to check in execs from Verizon! This morning I was checking in this girl and she had a verizon name tag on her bag! So I just had to ask her about the Thunderbolt, and asked if she could tell me when it would be released. She said No she couldn't, so I told her it was rumored the 10th, and she shook her head no, and then I said the 17th, and she said that date was more likely. She said she works in Marketing and I made her day just by asking about the phone. So I am thinking it is the 17th afterall!

If it is true that Verizon is gonna delay it again to the 17th because of the launch of the ipad2. That will be 2 Apple devices that has delayed our phone. WTF Verizon!!! Grow a set and launch this phone for us a let Apple wait just like they have made u wait for years for the iphone

And right now that's the last thing I think anyone here would want. I mean if Motorola locks their phones down and Samsung never gives consumers updates, then we would all be stuck.

Maaan, I hope it's not the 17th because that's when I have finals for school. At least when I thought it was the 10th I could skip a class to pick up the Tbolt at my local BestBuy..

Probably because there is no correlation at all. If anything VZW could show an ipad running off the TB's 4G hotspot (if it still works).

I dont know if i'm reading into too much but the phone on the newest HTC commercial has the date March 14th on it? What do you guys think?

I agree totally. The Samsung phone doesn't do anything for me... the only one I'd consider is Bionic because I don't care about locked or unlocked bootloaders. However, I don't care for Blur but I can live with it.

It's too bad that a phone with such promise has ended up so lost...

It would be dumb of VZW to give HTC the brushoff....HTC holds the market share for Android Phones despite only having one phone being offered by the largest cell phone service provider...look at the number of people willing to over look Bionic's better technology in favor of a phone produced by HTC...

got of the phone with BBM...the sales rep said he just talked with someone at verizion, he told me no release date, confirmed the phone was lasting 2 hours on battery life, and the kicker was that they could not get the phone to switch from 4G to 3G vice versa...they are not going to credit me anything for the wait since feb. 6th pre-order...decision time

According to Sentrix27 last tweet "devices are shipping from Basking Ridge, NJ to retail stores across the US today. 2 days ahead of the Sunday rumor!" Take it for what its worth

I just read in some report that, in January, HTC was the third biggest selling cell phone manufacturer after Apple and RIM, and ahead of Motorola and Samsung.
