Thunderbolt Pre Announcement Waiting Room & Availability Thread.

breaking me

yeah this is really the breaking point for me..if the delay beyond the original release date 3/17 im done with the Bolt. ill get something else...

I will be waiting to see what will happen??? If not ill wait for the incredble2 :mad:O:-)

March 17th is my last day with this. I just played with the Droid Incredible simulator and it's awesome!

Plus, I can get it for $20 with my NE2! I think it would be a great upgrade from my BlackBerry Tour.

So, either way, on the 17th, I'll be a happy Android owner. Then I'll get the TB in two years for $20!

The Dinc is a great device! My Dad has one and loves it. I dont have any credit/discounts so for me spending $100+ on a year old device just seems like a waste to me. for 20 bucks though..that is a different story! ;)

Def for $20 it's worth it to me. And I'll get an extended battery for it right away. I'm excited again!

If you DO end up with the Dinc (which I hope you don't... I'm hoping we are chatting about the Bolt around 5pm on the 17th) I have rooted and debloated this phone twice. I would be more than willing to help with any questions you have. Again... I would rather we be talking about the awesomeness of the Bolt!

can you tell im excited for this phone?

I'll need help with whichever phone I get, so thank you!

I'm hoping for a TB lesson for sure on the 17th!

If there is a preorder, I will probably go that route. If not, I will probably take off on the 17th :) I would be more than happy to host a "Newbie thread" or provide help via phone/pm/text. I will probably spend most of the day on between here and XDA(watching the root progress). I'm not a big drinker, but seeing as it IS St Patricks Day, I'm probably only going to be helpful till about 7 or 8pm (I'm a lightweight)

EDIT: I think a "Newbie Thread" would be a great place for all of our Android converts to come in and get pointed, device specific answers about Android. Anybody else willing to volunteer? Mods, any chance we can get this thread up on the morning of release?

the whole point of tiered data plan is so the people w/o 4g coverage doesn't have to pay extra $ for 4g usage, no?
Correct, I'd say "no". :)

I think VZW just wants a single system that will work the way they want for any data technology. And I'm sure they specifically do not one for 3G and one for 4G.

A plan based on quantity of data could do that. Download it fast or slow. Use 1x, 3G or 4G - get the same quantity, pay the same price.

There is one already! http://m.forum.androidcentral.com/showthread.php?t=62370. I believe the mods also have a group of volunteers lined up to help us noobs. They made an thread about it.

Great Post..IM a noob to Andorid :)

Let me know how you like the Incredible! I might be going that direction too.

I had the Incredible for a couple of months. Great phone. If you tweak it right, the battery problems are a non-factor. The only real gripe I had with the phone was the audio quality of the speaker. Not the speakerphone, but the speaker you hold to your ear. It had a very slight crackle to it. Definitely not a deal breaker.
