Used phone problems help?

Bought a lg optimus s from someone, they said they rooted it and I didn't think anything of it. I started having problems with the signal so I called sprint. they told me to take it to the store. the store tellS me I have a custom rom on it.
under about phone it says I'm using
android version: 2.2.2
Build number: nRom v1.6.2
SW version: LS670ZVC
Kernel version: 2.6.32.26-XIONIA_010ZEFIE@YUKI#1
Network: unknown

I don't mind a new rom or stock or something as long as I can keep root, have signal get 3g other than 1x I'd be happy.
Please help, I'm sort of new at this

Read rebornrom and search forums/google and do a full wipe and upgrade.

just download reborn rom and put it on the root of ur sd meaning not in a folder then turn your phone off hold down power+home+down-volume botton and wait till the lg boot comes up then let it go u should be in recovery mode then let me know what u see

Quick question though... My network still says unknown and my 3g max download is only 215. My download speed doesnt really seem to be high at all

Before all this you need to update your phone to ZVD and that should help with your problems. See the Preface section about updating to VD from VC rooted. http://forum.androidcentral.com/lg-...oting-software-version-ls670zvd-outdated.html

I'm not sure on that one. Your phone might think its running VD, when it's not. Remember to make a nandroid backup before making changes. If you have a nandroid of vc backup before you did the last update, you can try that.

Just install the LG mobile update tool and see if it finds the VD update for your phone.

no its not a problem but just making sure u are in vd by checking baseband or software version on about from setting...

now the 3g go to setting-about-prl udate hit that then wait till it finish that should help ur 3g coverage....

If you are patient, just sit tight till others offer more tips. There could be other ways to update, b/c its been awhile since the VD update.

I ended up finding it... why I deleted the last post... Hoped no one seen it before I deleted it lol installing drivers then the update tool and we will see where we go from there

u dont need to stress u dont need the lg u are on vd thats good but.lg is not leaking 2.3.3for a while so.sit in.your car seat and strap on cuz u are rooted and on custom rom reborn 2.2.2and u are on vd so what else u need ......

Good luck. It can be confusing if you didnt start off all of this with rooting and installing custom recovery. You were thrown into it without the previous knowledge of how it was done. If you need anymore help let me know, but it looks like you are getting it and Kraven and Manny are helping.

Honestly the update tool is going to think you ARE on VD baseband because you are running reborn rom. I would advise you to flash either nROM or ThunderROM and update from there. I have a feeling you are really on VC and the update tool isnt able to recognize it because Reborn ROM is signed for VD.... Make sense??


All your issues sound like symptoms of what im talking about. Using a VD ROM on VC Baseband....
