Yep. Its the same quandry that I am facing. Battery life is going to be the killer for me and so far it looks like you may be able to a full 16 hours (or something close to that) out of the bionic with the right settings. So it looks like I will hold out until we hear something about the battery life of the Prime.I have been waiting for over a year for the Bionic and now the Prime sticks its name in the mix....what to do. I got burnty waiting for the Nexus One and do not want to have that happen again.
I doubt the prime will have the Marvell Modem technology since the press release just came out. My guess it that it will at least be 6 months - 1 year before this appears in any hardware configuration. Looks really cool though.I just caught this article over at Engadget.
What are the possibilities of something like this making it in to the Prime?

another rumor from PhoneArena

it claims the Nexus Prime to have a 4.65" display with HD resolution and a completely METAL shell, 1280X800 res same as the Note, boasting 324.6 pixel density.

also, another source GSMArena states beside having a full metal chassis, the screen might also be a curved screen (Nexus S), and 8.8mm thick.
Honestly I think both radio versions will be available before the holidays. They learned their lesson from the Nexus S. I expect Verizons window of exclusivity not to exceed a month. So is the Prime an Verizon exclusive, or will Sprint and T-Mobile get the same phone or similar Nexus this year still ? I would hate to have to wait until May for the Nexus to reach Sprint, like we had to wait 5-6 months after the Nexus-S was first released.
Otherwise if the Nexus will only be coming to Verizon this year, might need to start looking up their family plans.
not to be contrary, but i think the Nexus will be a VZW exclusive for a few months. if the recent name rumors are true, that would explain why VZW passed on the GS2. and, given all the other carriers are going to be launching the GS2, it doesn't make sense that they would also immediately offer another, similar Galaxy device (Galaxy Nexus).
in the context of market competition, this is what makes sense to me: VZW offers the Galaxy Nexus as an "exclusive" in order to compete with at&t, t-mo, and sprint offering the Galaxy S II.
So we have three choices now
Heads explode.
- Galaxy Nexus
- Droid Prime
- Nexus Prime
Or, maybe just one.![]()
I still think it's convenient that all these Nexus rumors are swirling around on the day/week that the Bionic is released. None of these rumors are really telling us anything.
