Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Waiting Room

The Nexus devices haven't sold because up until now, they were only able to purchase online. It's only with the Nexus S on Sprint did a carrier fully embrace it, and now we're seeing the same thing with the Nexus S on AT&T. I think if it's given a proper advertisement campaign, the next Nexus has a food chance of being a success.

All it requires is a little marketing... which let's be honest, Google hasn't been the best at marketing their devices.

Absolutely. The Nexus phones really haven't had much of a chance to succeed until now. Get all four major carriers to carry the Nexus Prime, and get all four carriers to really market it and I think it will turn out to be one very successful device.

Also since it wasnt on verizon they lost out on alot of customers but I agree there is very little advertising for the nexus line I think if google let verizon droid brand it make it the droid nexus prime or something verizon could come up with a really good advertising for it since they have such a great droid line of advertising.

I would agree if it is only released on 1 maybe 2 carriers. But if as the rumors say , it comes to all carriers and is a beast like/better than the GSII is. Last year Sammy sold over 10million GS1's and I will assume this year will be no different. Google is looking at a great deal of N3 phones to sold. As much of a bad rap Sammy got this still out sold every1. Big reason is they had there phones on the all carriers world wide. Google can and could do the same with this 1. Its not confirmed but if AC posted it I will believe!!! lol.

Even if it is released on all carriers it will not outsell the iphone (or even the GS II) because the average consumer responds to what people tell them is good (iphone), what the salesmen tell them to get (iphone), and marketing (uhh iphone). So unless google, the carriers, and whoever manufactures this dumps a lot of cash into marketing it won't sell as well as you might expect. Nexus phones don't sell well because people in the forums aren't normal, we respond to specs and features, normal consumers want the newest droid or whatever their friend tells them is cool.

I call my Droid Incredible my "HTC Droid Nexus" in my Tatatalk signature, so if Google does call it the Droid Nexus they had better pay me royalties! ;)

In all seriousness, bringing the Nexus Prime into the Droid line is probably one of the smartest things Verizon could do. Give the phone Droid branding and really tout Verizon's 4G/LTE network and you could have a real hit on your hands.

I wouldn't want that because once you brand it droid it opens up VZ adding all its bloatware to the mix. This is one of those instances I would rather let google float on its own without VZ trying to get into the mix.

Well it would be the newest droid lol but I agree the average person who is undecided will go with what the salesman says and most tell them to get iphones because I think maybe they make more commission on iphones? Everyone I know gets bored with iphones and they ask me what is the best to get since they dont visit sites like these.

True. I don't know how much bloatware is on the Nexus S/4G, but I've been without Verizon's bloatware for a long time now thanks to Cyanogenmod and I defiantly don't want it back. Still the Nexus phones have always been east enough to root, so removing VZW's bloatware shouldn't be too difficult.

Yeah well google can crack down and do what apple does and say no bloatware. I mean the OG droid was essentially a nexus and it had very little bloatware. Even if they would add some bloat it would be unlocked so you could easily remove it.

4.6 tough? Might as well be talking on a 7" tab :p

Yeah, that is sort of venturing into mini tablet territory. My Dinc's 3.7 inch screen suits me just fine, and if I had my way the Prime would havr a nice 4 inch screen. Still I'm willing to love with the massive screen, and I'm sure I'll eventually adapt to it. Who knows, I might even come to like it. :)

This is a joke. A Nexus on Verizon, without the bloat and useless Verizon add ons?

Better go outside and start shooting down one of the porkers with wings

Even though my enV Touch is broken (take a guess what's broken), I might hold out for the Prime, so long as it is on Verizon LTE.

I'm sure it'll look great but I just hope that phone companies don't keep making bigger screens. If they do then we'll be talking on 10" phones by 2013......LOL

I never said it would out sell the IPhone.( adjusted previous post and added Adroidphone in the statement about Sammy outsold) .. But it would be cool to see that happen. lol . Ur right that on average people do listen to others when it comes to phones. If their looking to get a smart phone. I still see a lot of people with flip ups. Advertisement is the biggest thing. Don't know how many they sold but Sprint is still pushing that cat commercial lol every now and then.

Doesnt the nexus s 4g have sprint id or some sprint bloat on it? I thought it had one or two sprint apps on it. I just wish the carriers and OEM's would make their skins/apps downloadable from the market rather than forcing them on us. Or atleast give us the option to uninstall them.

The Sprint Nexus S 4G doesn't have any bloat on it. It comes preloaded with some Google apps, that is all.

What Applications/Content Come Preloaded On My Sprint SPH-D720 (Nexus S 4G) Phone?

In fact Sprint has responded to customer feedback and made a recent effort to reduce bloat on ALL of their phones, not just the Nexus. Just look at the difference between last year's EVO 4G and this year's EVO 3D which shipped with much less bloatware. Now if only AT&T and VZW would follow suit...
