Verizon Note 7 Recall Thread

Just called several stores and most are saying the 21st, one counter jockey told me not until the end of the month. :-\
 
I just went through chat option and ordered replacement. Only part i didnt like was paying the taxes today and getting refund when old phone is returned.

Same here, and honestly, I have NO confidence I'll be seeing my phone tomorrow as promised.
 
My Verizon store in El Dorado, AR says they haven't heard one thing from Samsung and probably won't have anything for this week. Wtf!
Did you tell them that the Verizon website specifically states that the phones will be available 9/21?

Pikesville is claiming they don't have them and they should come "today or tomorrow" but no idea when. Give me a break. I can look up "out for delivery" information on my orders...how is it possible they can't? I'm really getting steamed. BY the 21st Verizon...not END OF DAY ON THE 21st, uh maybe.

PS hey Alan...my cool glasses give me away? ;) BTW, going back to the jungle pants...in THIS particular neck of the woods, which really is just a tiny hop, skip and no jump necessary from you, we know them as cargo pants?
 
Called my Verizon store and was told "they just got an email that most stores are expecting [the replacement Note 7] within 48 hours but [the store I called] have not gotten them today yet"

I didn't bother with the 9/21 date question because for all I know that email was drafted last night.

I do think the guy I spoke with was genuine. He really didn't have them. But even if the email was sent yesterday, not so sure these stores will have them right at opening. They may need to get them delivered first on 9/21. So if not am tomorrow try pm.
 
I have been just watching this forum but wanted to post. I was on the phone an hour with them this morning and she would have given me a Note 7 IF I had a loaner within the last 14 days, but refused to exchange my Note 7 for another Note 7. Said I had to go in store, no other options.

Again with Verizon it's been one story after another depending on which CSR you spoke with. I have the same N7 I preordered on 08/19 and I've got FedEx shipping confirmation that my replacement will be here tomorrow before noon. IMO Verizon has really fumbled the ball here for lots of folks.
 
I had done a return on my original one, so was able to order one today online for delivery by 10:30am tomorrow. Got charged a $20 upgrade fee I never had to pay on the first one. Chat said they couldn't help on that. And no $25 credit. And buy a new screen protector. I feel well taken care of!

I called back and mine is coming Thurs. She had to rig the system and do it as a warranty exchange and I had to pay taxes and no $25 credit.
 
Holy crap! I called my local store and of course got the standard "no phones and no idea when" line. Called a branch close to my work and she went and looked and said, "yep, we have some. All 3 colors"... Just got back now. Transaction went smooth from giving back my S7E and back to Note 7. Also gave a $25 account credit. Nothing out of pocket today at all.

I'm still in shock. I'm at work so haven't been able to check anything except the box said Made in Korea.
 
Well after calling three different Corp stores in Houston (got the same response of they don't know when they'll get the N7 replacements in), I took a chance and called 611 since the local Corp stores couldn't guarantee that I would get my replacement this month even!

Not only did I get my replacement phone ordered for next day delivery by 1030am tomorrow , she also gave me a credit for the extra taxes the store charged me for the loaner and gave me a $25 bill credit. She also stated I only needed to return the S7E (not the accessories) with the return label coming with my new phone tomorrow!

I had had about enough of the local Corp store employee attitudes toward me through this whole N7 recall...but this girl made my day! So glad to have this behind me soon.

Wanted to share in case some of you were having the same bad luck I was... Good luck :)

Verizon, what a huge pile of crap.

Will anyone have any luck getting a replacement today (Tuesday) at a Verizon corporate store?


I don't understand why you keep posting over and over on 9/20 that you can't get the replacement that will be available 9/21. The date is clearly 9/21 in store, as advertised. Some have called today and done a phone replacement, but the in store date has been known to be 9/21.

Go to the store TOMORROW and get your new phone. I am not sure what else you want here ...

It really is quite funny if you take 50,000 mile view of it all. They really just tell whatever story they want depending on who you talk to. I had been having very good luck with Verizon chat getting consistent answers (although not the answer i wanted). After hearing that someone on this thread had luck with getting their replacement through chat today i thought i would give it a shot. See how that worked out below.

Did they just exchange or did they have to refund and charge you all over again?

As stated before they processed it as an exchange (I think) but they did charge me taxes which they immediately posted to my account as a refund. So I hope this info helps.
