Today, I tried calling Verizon Wireless to convert my personal account which I've had since January 5, 1996 under GTE MobilNet to a Business Personal/Small Business Account so it would use my Tax ID Number instead of my Social Security Number, I was transferred to the Assumption of Liability department who told me that since I have the UDP, she would hate for me to lose it so she said she can process the application for a small business account and the risk is high of losing it as there is a 60% success rate of sending it a request to add it back and a 40% failure rate depending on the IT Department. She basically got the small business account approved, credit check with no deposit needed for up to 20 lines but the computer kept doing Invalid Plan selected so she tried to change me to a $20 Unlimited Voice + $20 Unlimited Text plan and even tried just $20 Unlimited Voice but it keeps taking out the UDP. She even had a supervisor assist to see if there are any loopholes to keep the UDP but none of it worked.
After the call, I looked at this thread about adding the 100 Minutes & 100 Text Promo and this was what happened.
Kat: Good evening! My name is Kat, I am your account specialist. How may I help you?
Me: Hello Kat, how are you doing.
Me: I heard about a 100 free minutes and text loyalty promo
Kat: Oh! Thank you for your interest with our promos. I know how important it is to be able to apply all the applicable promos and offers there are. I would be glad to check available options for you in which we can apply the 100 free minutes and texts to your account. Let me go ahead and pull up your account.
Kat: Can I have your name and phone number on the account please?
Me: <Name and Phone Number provided>
Kat: Thank you for the information.
Kat: I will pull up the account now.
Kat: I see the available promo. Would you like me to apply the changes on the account now?
Me: yes, am I correct it would put me in contract for 1 year?
Kat: Yes, that is correct. I see that you have the Unlimited data on the line. Starting November 15, 2015, there will be an additional $20.00 for maintaining the unlimited data. It will take effect once your contract term has ended. If we add the promotions now on your line, it will add 1 year to your contract.
Me: Yes, that sounds good. Is there any promotions on voice & text plans without losing the Unlimited data?
Kat: Great idea! I will place the effectivity on the next bill cycle which is on November 05, 2015. This way, you will start having the 100 minutes and 100 texts on the same day as well have the unlimited data for a year without getting charged with $20.00 for the additional monthly cost.
Me: That sounds good.
Kat: Awesome!I hope I was able to take ownership and provide you good customer service today. Is there anything else that I missed? Would you like to know more about your account?
Kat: I have successfully added the promotions on your line! Congratulations!
Me: Well, are there voice plans with a better pricing than I am getting now?
Me: I talked earlier with someone and they said there was a $20.00 voice plan with unlimited minutes except I didn't know what the line access charge is.
Kat: Changing the plan will remove the unlimited data from your account. Would you like to consider changing the plan without unlimited data?
Me: Perhaps not, I want to keep the UDP

Kat: That's a great choice!
Kat: I definitely recommend that as well!
Me: In any case, thanks again for your help!
Kat: All for you! Thank you for being a loyal customer of Verizon since 1996! You are very much appreciated and valued by Verizon. We are doing our best to provide you the best option there is. We treat our customers as our family.

So seems like one can't change the voice plan without losing the UDP.
