Charging Problem with Google Edition S4

I just got my new Google Edition S4 in today and turned it on when I got it and went through setup fine. Put it on charger for a while.
I went back to check on it later and it is switching between a battery with a lightning icon in the center to an empty one with a question mark inside, nothing I do will stop that.

It just alternates between it endlessly, tried different charger, outlet, etc. nothing works.

Sounds like either a defective charger or a defective device. I'd bring it back... if it's new you should get a new device replacement.
