BestBuy: Galaxy Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

I order a Sprint note 8 orchid grey on August 26 at BB in store. I won't be doing this again. Others have theirs because they were shipped, the least they could do now is to release the ones that were pre-ordered in store. If they're releasing some pre-orders, they should release all pre-orders.
 
Anyone know why a UPS ground delivery would not scan his whereabouts for over 48 hours? Mine left Hodgkins Il bound for Texas at 9:35 am on the 7th, due here on the 12th, with no update since they left.. anyone else having this issue?

I have had zero tracking updates since my ground order was shipped. it could be in HI or Canada right now for all I know. hope it's having fun without me.

It could be in a trailer on its way to the destination hub. It's not uncommon for ground packages to go unscanned for a couple days.
 
Lord, bless it. I just got off the phone with a Best Buy rep who tried to tell me that I hadn't received my phone yet and my order wasn't updating because they were not releasing any of the Note 8 phones for shipping until the 15th. I told her that was not accurate as I had already received one three days earlier. She told me that it must have been a glitch and I should not have received it yet. I told her that I knew many others who had already received their phones as well. She then said she needed to transfer me to someone else. That woman answered and I explained my situation and she said she needed to transfer my call to somebody else. Then I was promptly disconnected.
Edited to add: Prior to this call, another rep told me, the color I ordered was not in yet and that was causing the delay. Another told me that my phone needed to be released from Verizon, so I called Verizon. Verizon said everything was fine on their end. Seriously, their reps are all over the place and it is such a frustrating waste of time. I really want that $150 off but at this point, I am starting to feel like the time spent on this has exceeded $150 worth.


That's exactly how I felt. I kept getting the run around. I spent tons of time on the phone and finally just said cancel it. Called Verizon and had the phone the next morning

They really screwed it up this time. It was the only time I tried preordering from them and I'll never do it again

they had a huge opportunity for growth here and fouled it up. they have lost my business forever. if Ammy sells it tomorrow (not happening) I would return mine when it arrives and take the hit just to be rid of BB.

Jeepers. Ordered an Orchid Gray VZW model early this morning... not filled with confidence. lol The ordering process was smooth sailing so I hope I can at least get it by the 15th

you actually have a shot at getting yours right away. some who have cancelled and reordered have had theirs ship right away. luck of the draw and that's what's so maddening beside the erroneous information being disseminated by their cs folks.
 
So many of us have had identical experiences with BB's pre-order sytem. This was my first time pre-ordering from BB and it will be my last. The disarray is mind-bongling. Personally, not having the phone until the 15th is disappointing but not earth shattering for sure. My frustration was in trying to get straight answers from their reps and customer support agents. I will think long and hard before making another purchase at BB,
both on-line and in store. Amazon and B&H are just a click away.

Man, I have tried to cancel more than once, but my order can't be cancelled because my unshipped order has been shipped, but it hasn't been shipped. So dysfunctional.
 
This is such a hilarious situation. I preordered in store on 8/25, got the run around so I cancelled last night and placed a new order online. This morning, I get a shipping notice and it's coming from that very same store with delivery set for Monday. All I can say is WOW, what a mess.

Wow..thats a new level of stupid right there. You may want to try and call the back office number i posted a few days ago.
 
I had an in store pre order for the same phone and same carrier. I canceled the in store preorder yesterday and reordered on bb's website. It shipped in less than an hour and will be arriving Monday morning between 9a and 1p.

Anyone on Sprint or VZW do the offer with BB to get the $100 BB gift card with the preorder? If so, have you received it in your email yet? Just wondering what the processing time is on them.

I ordered through Verizon at Best Buy, but I don't remember anything about a gift card. What was the way to get that?

I called to see if they could just switch me from in-store pickup to shipping to my house. Nope. Would have to go to the store, cancel my order, then order online. Seems like a lot that could potentially go wrong just to try to get my phone a few days earlier.

But I want it earlier!
