Re: Do you get good Service ?

All that I know is that it is working fine for me so far. I am not sure how the different bands work or anything like that.also I won't you to know this is in a small town.

Band 13 is 700mhz for Verizon

Band 12 is 700mhz for t-mobile

Re: Do you get good Service ?

I believe this is may be what you are talking about.
Map of T-Mobile's 700 MHz spectrum

Thanks, was just looking at that.
Looks like my home turf will be fine as soon as they get FCC approval.
I am a bit concerned about NYC, as I have 3 trips there planned between now and September. The hotel I stay at has good WiFi, so i should be covered regardless.
I have 6-8 weeks to decide, since I will wait for the S6 release. Just hope their unlimited plan and EFT pay-off program does not change by then.

A) that's been going on for a year now so I doubt it

And B) NYC won't be getting the band 12 support for a while since a TV network still uses I believe.

plan, device and network questions

I am not sure if this is the best place for this post. One of my family members now has a phone and tablet with verizon. Each device has 2 gigs of data. The bill is around 100. The tablet is hardly used and she wants to make it a basic phone. The 2 are on different plans. She is thimking of taking the phone to t-mobile with either the 50 or 60 dollar plan. She would keep the basic line with Verizon i think or should she make the change to the basic phone and have them port both? How much is the cheepest basic plan on Verizon ? How about t-mobile? What do you think

What would be less

A smart phone 60 dollar plan 3 gigs of fast data a basic phone on t-mobile or smart phone on t-mobile and basic line with vz

I hope all of that makes sense. Feel free to ask questions. ?

Re: plan, device and network questions

As long as the phone isn't in contract she should be able to change the line to a basic one. Does she need unlimited minutes?

Re: plan, device and network questions

The phone is in a contract but I do know you can change the plan at any time. I am just trying to see if it would make sense and would save money. She does not need unlimited data I do not think. What I think she is planning to do is switch it to a basic line and then import it to T Mobile when they buy out her contract. Trying to consider whether to get another tablet or a basic phone when signing up with tmobile. I hope this makes some sort of sense. To answer your other question no she does not need unlimited minutes. I think I typed unlimited data but she switched off of that already. With her current deal being around $100 with taxes and everything else does it even make sense in your opinion to make the switch to t-mobile.

Re: plan, device and network questions

By the way she has a old flip phone laying around to switch to.

contract buy out

One of my family members switched to T Mobile yesterday. They have a contract with Verizon Wireless and that T Mobile is going to pay off. How does that work exactly. Do they have to do anything or does tmobile automatically know how much it is. Do they need to go into the store and show them the final bill with the early termination costs on it. Thanks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Three requirements:
1. Trade in a phone (working or non-working), this is done at time of purchase
2. Buy a phone from T-Mobile.
3. Port your number over.
All three of the MUST be met.

Then when they receive the final bill from Verizon they can submit it online at switch2t-mobile.com or they have the info on there in mailing it in. Within 6-8 weeks they will receive a prepaid card.

*side note: they should have looked into this before making the purchase.

Re: contract buy out

They have done the first three steps you mentioned. I was just wondering how the rest of the process went. I think they know already but I was thinking for myself as well. When they get the final bill can they just take it into a store or does it need to be uploaded to the website. Thank you. I believe they are happy as of right now.

It's all done online or mailing it in, no need to go to the store.

Re: contract buy out

K sure they told her all of that anyway. Where would you send it? Thanks.
Go to the website. It tells you everything I just said. The form gives you everything you need to know.

Prepaid cancellation questions used for testing rather than test drive program

hi everybody. What I did is I went to Walmart and picked up a cheap prepaid tmobile phone and a T Mobile Pay As You Go card. I signed up for the $40 plan. I paid everything in cash so there should not be any sort of problem but I just want to confirm. As I am using this for testingat this time after this first month is up I am going to let it go and not pay it anymore. I believe this is the beauty of prepaid after all. we may end up switching to t -mobile I am not sure yet it just depends and we use a very little amount of data anyways. Here are my questions. the first thing I want to ask is the plan after being cancelled charged a cancellation fee? WHAT I guess I am trying to say is paying the monthly $40 and leaving the prepaid network am i penalized with any sort of fees. I would assume I would not be as I did pay everything all in cash and this has been my experience with other companies. My other question is how long will it be until that number is terminated or is it permanent. thank you.

No you will not be charged. The whole point of prepaid is that there is no commitment. How can they charge you, when they have no info on you? You'll be fine.

sound on calls

Hi all

I am writing this to ask you all if your sprint call quality is bad. I was using a sprint prepaid from boost mobile to test out the service. I really really like it for the most part except the sound on calls was pretty bad. It was acceptable but not great. I had considered switching but I would not as my verizon phone seems to sound better. The boost mobile phone sounded funny to me and it is the same phone that I am using on Verizon Wireless but just through boost mobile. On the other hand I have also used another company and it claimed to go off of Sprint towers as well as sound quality was excellent. I am confused. I am now testing t-mobile phone and the sound quality is absolutely wonderful. It is fine on my verizon phone as well but seems to be possibly a little better on the T mobile phone.
