T-Mobile

We are thinking of going to them from Vz. We have had Vz along time and like it over all. We have two phones in contract with 1 gb. The bill is $110 but going down $30 after contract. I no Tmo buys out contracts. My mom has a iphone 5c she likes and i no it will work with Tmo and we would i would guess she would need to get a low end phone and put the sim in her iphone. I will have to get a new phone as mine will mot work. Is it better to stay where we are.

Re: anyone test driving

Update:
Couldn't get anything more than Edge at my house.
Took the phone back 5 days from receiving it. The guy looked it over and said thanks so I left.
A couple weeks later I get an email that if I don't return the phone, they're going to charge me. Called T-mobile and they said they had no record of me returning the phone. The next day they charge my card $375.
I drive down to the store and ask if so and so is in. The guy there said no. I said I dropped off the phone at such and such day and now they charged me.
He went and looked in the back and found the phone I had. I asked if he could give me a receipt, he said there is no way to give a receipt. I called T-mobile and they said they are supposed to give me a receipt. Finally, after a month I got my $375 back. A little stressful.
So if you test drive, make sure you get a receipt when you drop it off.

Re: anyone test driving

Thank you this is why i got a pay as you go phone. Sounds like they had no idea what to do.

Re: happy or not

If your using less than a gb a month? Why would you be interest in a UDP? You will paying more monthly too

Re: phone

AT&T Note 4, Lumia 1520, and iPhone 6 (wife's). Also have an iPhone 4s (company supplied). Today I purchased a Blu Studio 5.0HD LTE (the Snapdragon/Adreno one). Been playing with it all day and to be honest with you, this thing is damn good so far. I think all the fuss about the Blu phones is due to the fact that 90% of them run MediaTek SOC'S and the 6" one has a 1080p display with a Snapdragon 400 pushing it so, yeah do the math. This one is pretty neat so far and only $150.

Re: phone

I have a potato on jollyfats wireless... its cool and all, but the voices are getting annoying... next phone I get I'ma going to make sure it doesn't transmit directly into my brain.

(Nexus 6 with an unlimited LTE plan on T-Mobile... phone and service rocks like thunder)

What are the pros and cons of Cricket Wireless?

What are the pros and cons? We are thinking of switching from Verizon.

Thanks

Re: good or bad

Good:
Cheap
CDMA (for those who prefer it)
Good coverage where they have good coverage. (Better than "Joe's Cell Service", anyway.)

Bad:
CDMA (for those who get seasick with weak CDMA signals)
Mostly bad coverage except where there are concentrations of people. They're number 4 (out of 4) for the amount of area covered (at all - even voice) by a large margin.
Most of the stores are independent, and the employees don't know any more about cellphones or the system than you do, so if you need help, you have to come here. (Better than Straight Talk, like having your leg torn off is better than being shot in the head.)

Would I use Sprint? No. Should you? That's up to you.

Re: good or bad

Honestly, forums are the last place that I would go for a discussion of cell carriers. You have to understand that carriers have tens of thousands of towers around the country and most people have experience with less than 50 so no one can tell you much about a carrier unless it is a person in your local market and your concerns are local only.

The only two sources of information that I would use if it were me if I was really interested in learning about Sprint's current condition would be RootMetrics and s4gru.com

Re: good or bad

Sprint is good where i am at. Good speeds and coverage. Never lose signal.

It could be the opposite where you are at, each market is different

Re: What are the pros and cons of Boost Mobile?

For questions about iPhone compatibility you may want to ask on iMore.com

Re: What are the pros and cons of Boost Mobile?

And to find out if a given phone can be used on Boost, you'd have to ask Boost. Even if it can work on the Boost network (Sprint towers), Boost can refuse to accept it.

Re: What are the pros and cons of Cricket Wireless?

Pro:
Cheap.

Cons:
Everything else.

There are websites devoted to gathering complaints about Cricket service, customer service, etc. And there are thousands and thousands of complaints. If you think Verizon is bad (IMO they are), switch to Cricket and you'll wish you were with Verizon.
