Re: Drew's CM7 builds (stable: 08/02/2011 | experimental: 08/03/2

Just FYI, I know no one cares about this, but I am unable to pair Bluetooth to my Ford sync with this rom. I have no idea how you would even go about fixing this but it would be cool.

Re: Drew's CM7 builds (stable: 08/02/2011 | experimental: 08/01/2

I just wanted to say thanks to all the developers here for turning our little low end phones into something special. With Drew's Tuesday stable build, bluetooth is working amazing on my phone and the integration to my car stereo has never been better. Together with ADW Launcher Ex (i feel it runs much smoother than the standard version), this phone even at a stock 600mhz runs super fast.

Tonight, I put on data2ext and now the phone reports .95 gig of free internal space :D (previously had 60meg free). It just gets better and better.

Cheers

I'm with you on this. BT works great for me... Both my Jabra and stereo headset are working flawlessly... IDK what could be the problem with other folks but am glad I don't have those issues...
GREAT WORK DREW!!

I've been running the stable build for a day now and absolutely no problems for me :D Great job man!!

New ex build is missing prl updates - upon closer reading it looks like this was removed. I thought the awesomeness was referring to prl not ota lol

Also drew when your ready I have some questions about the ota updates. Mainly if it will work with the data2ext mods or not.

Quick question, is there any reason that the latest Ex build doesn't follow the naming conventions of the previous builds? Or is it just the fact that Drew passed out last night and didn't bother renaming it before uploading it? I'm just trying to make sure that I'm downloading the correct file ^_^

The naming/versioning convention being switched is intentional. Once I get to my computer I will post a detailed explanation of the conventions that will be used from here on out. You are downloading the correct file :)

[INFO]Regarding Naming Conventions:

Some of you have noticed that beginning with the 4th experimental build (EX-004), the naming convention for the ROM ZIP has been changed. Do not panic, this was intentional.

With the build labeled EX-004, the Mod version is CyanogenMod-7.1.0.1.4. Let's take a look at the version number, 7.1.0.1.4. The official CM version is 7.1.0, so let's pay attention to the last two version digits, 1.4. The first digit (1) is the stable branch version. So far we are at stable branch version 1. The second digit (4) is the experimental version contained within the stable branch version. Stable version 1, experimental version 4. Combined with the official CM version of 7.1.0, we get 7.1.0.1.4.

The second stable build will be version 7.1.0.2, the third will be 7.1.0.3 and so on. All stable builds will have four version digits, all experimental builds will have five. According to these parameters, the first experimental build released after a stable build will be version 7.1.0.(STABLEVERSION).(EXPERIMENTALVERSION). For example, the third experimental build released during the week of the fourth stable build will be version 7.1.0.4.3. Please post if you have any further questions. Thank you.[/INFO][INFO]Regarding OTA updates:

The OTA updates will be flashed like regular ROM updates. Your data will not be erased, and everything should function as normal after an update. As you have noticed, there are two build types: experimental and stable. Arbitrarily switching between experimental and stable will not be supported and you will need to do a full data/system wipe before switching between the two. Updating one experimental build to the next should be pretty seamless, as will updating one stable build to the next. Experimental build updates will NOT be visible to the stable ROM updater and vice versa![/INFO]

I haven't tested data2ext with the update mechanism. If you are able to manually flash a ROM update while maintaining data2ext then it will work just fine. I wouldn't necessarily count on it though.

Drew, you know about the problem I had, well, sure enough I found my own assbackwards way of getting it fixed.

When do you think (if ever) will we have powered off charging. If my phone is powered off, I plug in a charger it boots the phone. If I shutdown the phone with a charger plugged in it just restarts! How weird or is it a known issue?

Yea, I feel the same way about not being able to shut phone off while charging. But I can live with it.
Great job on this ROM!
Now to see how the battery last with this Rom. Normally if my phone is at 100% at 10pm and i wake up in the morning at 5:15am I will usually have around 95%. But that is usually done when charging with phone off and unpluging at 10pm, turning phone on and then off to bed! Will let you know tomorrow morning what I have left.

So is there no prl updater anymore or did u remove it to work on it still just wondering. By the way drew great job been running ex4 since u uploaded it an its been running great no problems at all so fare keep up the good work

Re: ROM Builds

There will be no available updates until the 08/05/2011 build, so please do not check for updates until then.
Do you realize that you put a button on my phone and told me NOT to push it? Do you know what that does to me? It's like that Tiny Toons where they are in the elevator and the duck is saying I want to push the button, my turn.........
So, what time tomorrow can I push the button? hehe

Re: Drew's CM7 builds (stable: 08/02/2011 | experimental: 08/03/2

This is the first tone my phone has lated two days without a charge, and I still have 30%!!

Thanks Drew, this is by far the best ROM I've ever had. It's snappy as hell too.
