Re: Drew's CyanogenMod Hacking thread (current build: 07/27/2011)

I also want to add the brightness toggle option. On Scott Pilgrim I had wifi, GPS, sound on/off, brightness and screen lock. I've changed it, rebooted and it didn't change. I shouldn't even have to reboot. Also I tried removing it and re adding. All I get are the same 4. Bluetooth, sound, wifi and GPS. Even with that this is still a nice rom. Also I don't know if this matters but I used titanium backup pro to restore my cyanogenmod settings from s.p.

I don't know why it isn't working for you, I can do all those things without issue. Maybe try reflashing the ROM, I know I had an issue with MMS at first, but a reflash fixed it. Good luck. =)

Wait, how do you dirty flash this ROM?

Go from 001 to 002 without wiping data or cache. Its usually safe to dirty flash when updating the same ROM that you currently have although some don't recommend it. Do the dirty at your own risk! Haha

So would it be a bad idea to dirty flash over the first build of Ath3no's ROM?

I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. Personally when switching between two different developer's ROMs I wipe everything just to be safe.

Ok so I go through the usual wiping process, and install Drew's Build. For Drew-003, all I have to do is flash it over whatever I have, sans wiping? (just clarifying, don't want to do something stupid haha.)

Correct. You should be fine switching from drew's 002 to 003 without wiping as I went from 001 to 002 with no issues!

Haha alright, I'll get on that right away. I just hate reinstalling all my apps! And re-tweaking my settings. I suppose it's worth it. Either way, can't get TiBi right now, boo hoo.

I'm still gonna have fun with this ROM. Thanks Drew!

I use MyBackUp Pro which cost a few bucks but they also have a free version. Its very handy. Backs up system settings, applications, contacts, pictures, and basically everything else. As long as you have access to a computer then the free version will be fine. Basically you login online where your backups are stored. The difference in the free and paid version is that on the paid version I can save my backups to my sdcard. You should check it out.

Who cares about Verizon customers anyway? (j/k)

I haven't had any problems as of yet.... If you continue having issues, try having someone else send you one from a Verizon phone. Last resort, wipe everything, flash 001 build, then flash newest build over it. :)

If you want to disable the shadowy one completely, it's Settings>ADWLauncher>UISettings and scroll down to "Hidden Dockbar" and where it says "Dockbar, enable/disable the new dockbar for your shortcuts" uncheck the box.

To make it so that you can make it appear/disappear by swiping up, In ADWLauncher settings, go into general behavior and at the bottom choose "Swipe up actions" and choose "Open/Close dockbar", then, you can swipe up to open it, and swipe up again to close it. (Or basically to switch between traditional dock and shadowy dock).

Hope this helped. =)

You can also just tap the home key... it toggles the dock...

When my headphones are plugged in during a call I can hear them but they can't hear me.. until after I unplug my headphones.
