Re: Drew's CM7 builds (stable: 08/09/2011 | experimental: 08/08/2

I'm using some other recovery, I assume since I don't have an option to wipe boot and system nor do I have a mounts and storage menu. My options are wipe data (done), wipe cache (done), wipe Dalvik-cache (should I?), wipe SD:ext partition (I'd rather not!), wipe battery stats, wipe rotate settings, and wipe .android_secure.

Which one of these should I wipe other than the two I already have? Thanks in advance.

I would recommend switching to zefies xionia recovery for any cm7 rom you flash.

And flash this: http://db.tt/SI1Vwx2
Debugsystem.zip which will properly wipe any leftover files missed by the recovery (which ours have trouble with) so flash this every time you want to do a clean wipe. After you wipe everything first.... :)

Is it safe to use theme manager in the update Rom settings?

Here's an oddball question, since this ROM separates the two:

I'm not too heavy on using the Google Apps. I use a different browser (Opera or Dolphin), a different IM client (Pansi), the stock E-mail client (ActiveSync needed for work)... Would it still work if I did not install GApps? Would I lose any or all functionality? Would I still be able to install APK's?

Just wondering. I thought it would be best to ask before trying it out. ;)

I did end up flashing with everything wiped except for the SD. I have the system up and running with benchmarks coming in over 1000 with OC (YAY!).

If I flash that zip, will it re-wipe my entire phone? Thanks for all y'alls help!

Loving the ROM overall so far but I have one tiny request....more alarm ringers! The ringers/tones this ROM comes with are all basically that old school annoying beep we are used to. I liked some of the alarm ringers from the stock optimus like "Music after the dream" and some others like that. Yes I know I can go get some more tones manually but it would be nice if the ROM came with some less annoying alarm options lol.

Without Google apps you cannot sync contacts saved by Google or use the app market or have any settings/apps backed up that way. Honestly it is hard to do much of anything without gapps

I had the same problem. Did you back up the file with titanium? After I backed mine up it stopped reverting.

I would back the file up first. Who knows how long you will be waiting for the official update. It should be still on the phone after a back up.

I actually hate the new market app because of the way it looks, and because it breaks the search function from the universal search bar.

Does anyone know if I freeze the market updater using titanium backup, will it stop trying to update the market?

I really love this rom!!!!! But I'm having a problem..... when I put the phone on speaker its very low even when playing something on the outside speaker it is very low......

No experimental build tonight, folks. Real Life is taking precedence at the moment. Next experimental build: Friday, August 12, 2011.

Thanks for the Updates, at least you didn't forget that the Optimus S exists like Sprint did. They also forgot the Hero and Moment existed as well. I'm sorry to say, I love Sprint's unlimited data, but they have crappy support for their midrange android devices. All of the higher end Android devices already have at least Android 2.3 OTA. But thank you Drew for developing this ROM. It has made my experience with my Optimus S a pleasure again.
