Fingerprint Scanner Not Working Well

I think the video said it still relied on capacitive touch to activate the ultrasonic sensor then it reads the 3d printed print with ultrasonic. So I doubt reading any blood flow.

Try this... with those same surgical gloves, press any icon on any part of screen away from FPS. You'll see it reads your touch through the gloves to the screen. I just tried it on mine to confirm.

I wondered if it picked up the blood flow through the glove

Try the fingerprint sensor with gloves on few times see if you can unlock it.

I don't have an S10... still rocking my Note 8 with just as quirky FPS in the back lol.

Obviously if you have an S10, Ultrasonic sensor won't work with gloves on if it's as sensitive to even screen protectors or even directly to bare skin (well I'm pretty sure you can't) :p.

edit: rereading your early post I see you were able to get in with thin plastic wrapper. I guess if the medium is super thin like the thin film of plastic Samsung puts on the S10s at shipping then the sensor can just get through it. But as you said, it took a number of tries... probably had to stretch that thing smooth to make sure no distortion??

But in the spoof video, the capacitive sensor was capable enough to sense electrical charge of skin through the glove and the 3d printed print to activate the ultrasonic sensor to read the 3d printed scan which is all that matters in getting the phone to read the fake print.

Yeah it's crazy how he was able to get in.
I was just curious because if it does read blood it did through the plastic wrapper I used but took few tries with hard press, but the guy in the video opened with ease with latex glove and a clear square plastic with his copy print. Could it read the blood flow through the glove and square clear plastic I doubt it because it was hard with the plastic wrapper I used and he had gloves and plastic.. I dont know guess we see how Samsung responds to this .

I don't know if it reads blood flow or not but your test wouldn't rule that out

Who knows? I'm not sure I care either way. You know me by now. I just enjoy my devices or toys. When I buy a device if it doesn't suit me within a few days I get rid of it.

If they release a physically bigger Note 10 (than a Note 9) then not that for me.

But if the rumors of an optional smaller Note 10... I may just have to contact my corp rep ;)

Please have the ultrasonic sensor working by then... or an optical instead ;)

What will we be sportin' come October?

I agree, hopefully they wont go bigger then the Note 9 or if they do release a smaller one will be interesting.

I'm sure they will figure something out either way.
