Man, I don't know. I get what what you're saying but when was the Thunderbolt announced? Not release date but when it was named Thunderbolt from the Mecca, HD2 or whatever it was.

Just look at the frenzy in the Thunderbolt forums :)

Granted, most everyone is this forum is techie junkies wanting the latest and greatest...

But for the average user, yeah I agree with you.

Totally agree with you about the forums. There is a ton of frenzy but with a very dedicated community and their friends. Google and the other Android backers will never beat Apple till they get slicker on their marketing and product launches.

VZ is currently having a 3 day sale that ends tomorrow.... correct? I can't imagine that VZ would make an announcement today or tomorrow for that reason alone. My guess is a Friday announcement and release on the 10th.

Exactly what I have said the whole time, he will keep changing his story until it finally fits or he gets it right. I HIGHLY doubt Verizon would release the xoom, the ipad 2 and the Thunderbolt all within 2 weeks!! Think about it, it makes no sense. I haven't believed a thing Bennn has said so far and I still don't. He hasn't proved anything except he can retract statements and make up clever quizzes that make absolutely no sense!!
You said in another thread, on Monday, when asked if the phone would be announced within 3 days, absolutely...

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

consider yourself held to it!

IM RIGHT.............HOPeFULLY

PEOPLE!!! Skype is baked into Sense UI for Video chat. that has already been revealed via CES 2011.As far as the "cloud reference" its the same feature that the motorola atrix has that allows you to use your phone as a processor and your laptop as the screen for your phone for full phone control and data transfer capablilties through cloud computing software. Only thing is the Atrix has a Dual Core in it so it makes me wonder if the TBOLT is being revamped with a new processor. and most likely double battery life and OS upgrade from 2.2 (maybe Ice Cream) maybe wrong its all speculation at this point and its eating me ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

You cryptic lunatic....

Can we get a semi-straight answer from you?

lmfao aren't all his answers semi-straight? Idc if this is the biggest technological hoax ever created, I am still sending this man a beer!

Yeah you're right with that. They (Apple) do have it going on. But they have a specific niche or market and not a lot of variations to that market. IE, Ipad and not 10-12 different companies making the same thing with IOS on it. So I think they can focus more on that one product alone and not support the whole ball of wax..

Plus the Apple (Jobs) followers are somewhat like a cult in some ways :). I have spoken to my buddies with IPhones and I swear they think it is the second coming and they won't even think about looking at anything else.

These are the guys that would buy a bag of IPoop if Jobs took a S**t in a paper bag and called it IPoop. Hell, they would pay top dollar for it LOL

New processor - Most likely not
Double battery life - 2500+ MAH standard would be hella expensive, but maybe
Ice Cream - Nope

Just relax and enjoy the game.

Its sad how we live in a time where no one can trust anyone anymore that they need explicit proof, while i agree with everyone in saying the rumors and delays have killed us in anticipation of launch, but what can it hurt to have some faith in something that seems slightly more credible than some of the rumors the blogs post that they TOO don't post PROOF.

Verizon's plan was never to make us wait 2+ months between announcement and release. At this point I'd say we have it on pretty good authority that the Bolt should have launched in the first half of February, meaning that VZW's intent was to make us wait about a month.

Still, I think that window needs to be less than 2 weeks.

Also, to chime back in on the Apple release strategy topic, I respect that Apple doesn't feel the need to fight any battles at trade shows. One could argue that HTC/VZW shouldn't have announced the device until it was ready to go, but the companies chose to play into the CES arms race regardless. Smacks of desperation, where there really shouldn't be any. You have North America's largest carrier releasing NA's first LTE handset, made by one of the world's foremost hardware manufacturers. Why so desperate? Just relax and announce when it's ready.

I am going to play the optimistic one..... VZW has finally been acknowledging the millions of FB posts and Tweets re: TB.... It seems there was a hiccup in their original release plan.... The phone is now ready to go.... So, maybe they just want to get it out to the consumer NOW instead of waiting for the 'perfect' timing which could be weeks away.... Like someone else said, with all the hoopla this past month, they have gotten alot of free advertising.... So in other words, maybe the original plan was a hard launch, but because of consumer demands, they had to change to a soft launch.

As I said, I am just trying to be optimistic. :)

Processor: It takes electrical engineers MONTHS to design a board and MONTHS MORE to test and refine them. We saw prototypes of this phone way back in August and it is just now about to be released - that's how long it takes. As I stated elsewhere, you may as well wish for a new Ferrari while you're at it. New processor is not happening. Period.

Double battery life: No smartphone has great battery life. Maybe a slight improvement has occurred, but double?? Again, not happening

Ice Cream: Err, Ice Cream hasn't even been finished by Google, yet HTC is going to have it ready INCLUDING their Sense overlay on top within the next 2 weeks?

Please pass whatever you're smoking, my friend. We could all use some ;)

Red. Sideways. Bolt. Instant.

Think about it. One of the many things that makes this phone enjoyable, as well as lightning fast.

EDIT: $100 off? These are not the Droids you are looking for. It's the NEXT batch.
