From OnLeaks, Get Excited

Google Nexus 6 (2015) Release Date Delayed - Nexus 5X Is On Course - Neurogadget.com

This makes me want to scream if true, and at this point I assume all negative rumors about the Huawei nexus 6 are.

What would this mean for the 2016 nexus 6?

Will that come out on time or will Google now start launching all nexus phablet in the first quarter of the year?

Or will the Huawei nexus simply be the last phablet nexus ever?

At this point Ive lost all hope.

Google has failed me so completely I can't even describe it.

Geeksnack originally spread that rumor a few days ago: Huawei Nexus 6 release delayed to 2016 because of dual-edge panel [rumor] - GeekSnack

It's just pure BS speculation. Geeksnack referenced this post from Weibo when they made their claim: Sina Visitor System

However, when you google translate the post:
Translation said:
Huawei, Samsung intends to purchase 2K resolution hyperboloid Amoled screen. Huawei plans to build the first half of next year a new series of high-end phones, the main double curved screen, and plans to produce 3 million per month.

You can see there's nothing mentioned about the Nexus 6 delay. We've already seen it leaked in the wild and it was fully assembled. It's definitely coming out on the same day the Nexus 5X will.

Put the word: gadget into your websites name and now you are a reliable source? I think NOT!!!

100% this. Nothing is concrete anyway. We're on an early schedule, so any release date in 2015 will work.

i don't trust the rumor, but for arguments sake ....

disappointing, yes. but if it results in a better product, I'm all four it. I'd love a Samsung display on a 5.7" Nexus, and now there's a possibility the 810 won't be used.

It'd be awesome if 2 Nexus phones were released 6 months apart every year.

So long as Google delivers, I'm willing to be patient .... they better not use anything less than 3500 mAh though.

This isn't necessarily bad news. Let's look at the glass half full (a difficult task in 2015 I know).

Let's say this rumor is true. If the end result is a better phone, IMO the wait is worth it. Plus, the Nexus 6 is still only $350 (I know you have one, just speaking in general) so if people have to get something now that's a great value.

And going forward, releasing a phone in Q1 might provide Google the opportunity at the newest chip.

Personally, I'd love if every year they released a mid to low high end range phone in the fall, then their Flagship early that next year.

Also, 6" phones aren't far behind. HTC and Sony, which you referenced, are already working on them, and it won't be long before they make their way to the US.

There's been a ton of complaining in 2015 about battery life/thin phones. Us Android people don't move the needle, but iPhone fans do, and they're not happy with the battery life they're getting.

That's from reading forums, magazines, and talking with iPhone owners. It's those people that we need to continue voicing their frustration, cause if Apple responds, Android will either try and get out in front of it, or fall in line.

And maybe HTC or some other OEM will be smart enough to slap in a 4000+ battery into an aesthetically pleasing phone AND market the hell out of it.

Hopefully HTC can borrow the cash or bring on a partner, cause there's a HUGE opportunity for a phablet with larger battery, and a compact version using the same specs for the Android crowd that prefers smaller phones.

what if both the LG and Hauwei phones are complete disasters? What phone would you get?

I just grabbed the Nexus 6, so I'm pretty content at the moment, but need a second phone sooner than later. I have my heart set on the Hauwei Nexus, but I'd probably, and still might, get the Note 5 if that wasn't a choice.

I'd also consider waiting to hear more about the M10.

I was all excited for the Moto Pure, but for some reason its just not doing it for me.

Probably a Moto X PE. I *might* stick around to see what OnePlus is going to announce later this year, but their shenanigans with the 2 make me not want to risk buying from them. It looks like a great phone, but I don't wanna get burned if they can't deliver. I love the Moto X, but it doesn't have a fingerprint scanner. That said, I have complete faith that at least one of the Nexus phones will work for me. :D

http://phandroid.com/2015/09/07/sony-xperia-z5-ultra-rumor-march/

Please god let this be true.

If so it would make up for all the disappointment of 2015.

been reading more about this Z5 Ultra. The Hauwei Nexus better come strong, cause I'm in no rush to go buy an 810 processor with the 2016 chips right around the corner.

there are two highly intriguing phones rumored right now, this Z5 Ultra and the 6" M10 (which I'll highly skeptical of).

A couple months ago it was a lock is be getting both the Pure and Nexus, but the combination of inferior chips and small batteries have left me with some doubt.

The real game changer though was Amazon selling the Nexus 6 for $350. That definitely bought me time and game me patience!

I've had complete faith in Nexus, bit for some reason I'm nervous about battery life in the Hauwei version. I can picture it being below 3000, and that would be a huge let down.

The z5 ultra is classic vaporware.

Ever since the z2 onwards there has been rumors about a replacement to the z5 ultra yet one never comes.

Believe me a 6.44 inch screen with front facing speakers would be an instant, "wait a year and by on clearance" buy for me, but alas I've embraced a comforting cynicism regarding android phones.

Heck the rumored o2 sounds great 2 with a 6 inch screen but I'm sure those rumors are just as false.

Phone makers hate Americans and don't think we deserve big beautiful phones. That is why the Lenovo phablet will never be sold here, why the P8MAX or media pad x2 won't, why those giant oppos and Xiaomis won't.

America is fast becoming a wasteland of Android phone mediocrity where every battery is made just big enough to "last a day of mixed use"

No one asks the kind of questions that made America great, that our a man on the moon, that won world War 2, and made us the richest nation in history.

Why can't batteries get bigger every year? Why can't screens? Why can't all specs improve even things like higher res screens AND more energy efficient screens.

For the love of God why can't I have a phone with the biggest battery, the longest battery life, the most storage and ram, the best camera, and the best speakers?

I would pay $2,000 for such a marvel yet no one wants my money. It's us currency but to phone makers its apparently worthless.

Looks like all phone based not shall die in my life when my nexus 6 finally does.

And for all this I know there is but one person to blame... OBAMA! 😉

Sorry, but your iPhone battery comment is way off. First off I'm an android guy, but I have a 6 plus for work and the battery life is amazing. I've never had an android phone last as long.

My daily driver is currently an iPhone 6 and the battery life is not amazing. It was okay in the first month or two, but it took a sharp turn for the worse and I haven't been able to improve it. I'm ready for an Android phone with a huge battery to whisk me away.

no, it's not .... per the reviews on 9to5 mac, as well as multiple reviews online, there were just as many complaints about battery life there as there are around here. the 6+ gets decent battery life, not great.

for you to say it's "amazing" means either your a light user, the phone is brand new, or your standards are much less than most. the standby time is amazing, there's no denying that, but battery life, not so much.

this post is about the 6s ... certainly not 100% so there are exceptions to the rule, but the comments mirror the ones around here when the S6 was released.

this chart is from anandtech .... I'm not a spec test guy at all, I think real life usage varies so much from person to person, that they're not very telling. but simply to illustrate the point I decided to include it.
