Galaxy Note 4: Battery Life Concerns Check Here First

Great SOT (about 4 hours and 45 minutes) and standby but I'm wondering why android system is higher than my SOT? My screen wasn't awake much when I wasnt using it. I attached pictures.

Interesting as I have never seen my Android system at higher % than SOT. I am Extremely pleased with my battery as I am at 14 hours right now with 40% left at 11:30pm.

Absolutely love the battery life on this beast, this is what I'm getting without any battery saving features enabled. Just auto brightness 😎😎

Hi guys. When I first got my phone and I charged it to a full 100%, I was down to 4% in 4 hours and 10 minutes. The usage was somewhere between moderate and heavy ( 1 hour of web browsing, 15 minutes of Asphalt 8, 1 hour of music). I was on 3g network and I switch data on only when I'm browsing or using whatsapp. Anyway, I turned off all the useless apps (S health, S voice, Google Now, Google play books, Google play newstand etc.) and today with pretty heavy usage (30 minutes of Asphalt 8, 40 minutes of navigation, over an hour of browsing etc.) I'm down to 8% from 95% with a screen on time of 5 hours and 30 minutes. For anyone having issues with their battery, try switching off google now cards and s health if you don't really need them.

PS- Power saving mode was on both times and brightness was set to low levels (20%) and on auto at times. I also use a 16 gb micro sd card with my phone.

Facebook messenger is killing my battery, it's using 20% should I uninstall it?

Also what's the deal with the SD card? I have a 32 gig evo card.

This is my battery usage so far today. In going to monitor it today for curiosity sake to see how it goes.

l'll repost stats later!

wow! 8 hours of OST is awesome!

that was a particularly heavy day, on average I get about 5-6 hours with about 20% battery left which is great. I don't use any of the battery saving features such as CPU restrictions (what's the point of having all that power if you're not going to use it?) I also don't like the screen restriction because to me it seems that using that along with auto brightness makes the screen a bit too dark, especially indoors without full lighting. background data is not a concern do to my unlimited plan with Sprint.

all things considered, I have no complaints with my Note 4. it is fast, battery life is good, and it has handled everything thrown at it with no hiccups. I'm typing this with Chrome and YouTube open in split screen while on a call and the phone is just humming along, no issues. Love this device.

Zero Lemon battery is pretty good. I'm on my 4th day now with the last charge. It will last at least 5 days with moderate use. I ran a full movie on the last charge when the phone read 1% and stayed on 1%. Ray

Having a similar problem with phone's battery life. I bought my phone in November, a full charge would last me up to two days with moderate/heavy use. Within the last couple of days, maybe a full week now, my phone's battery is down to nothing by 3pm after I just pulled it off of the charger at 100% at 7am. Read many of the previous posts on this thread and others so I could try and fix the problem myself. I've done SEVERAL of the suggestions: cleared cache in the settings and by turning off phone, holding power/home/volume up, etc., taken out SD card, formatted the SD card (which I bought brand new just for this phone) using the phone and not the PC, deleted all .pdf files on phone, charged to over 90%, turned off syncing files to any cloud storage, restarted after everything I tried. That stupid Index Service is still eating my batteries at around 50% usage. I don't understand why it would be my SD card anyhow, as I put it in immediately and didn't have a problem until now. There wasn't any new files added or downloaded recently- plus I deleted everything but the photos on my phone's internal memory. I don't really want to have to do a system reboot- any other suggestions?

Maybe I'm doing to much but my battery life sucks i thought this was suppose to be the best battery am I doing too much? This is my first andriod phone since the evo so i need help

Hi all - fairly new Note 4 user here. I was noticing very mediocre battery life and did some digging. I noticed last night HD Widgets was using 13% of my battery life (same % as SOT). Rather than mess around with trying to tweak all of the HD Widget settings, I deleted the app and am sticking with the stock weather/clock widget. Today the battery life is much better. Anyone else have similar experiences with HD Widgets?

Yes. Even though I had purchased the app I ended up deleting it because of the battery usage.

Right-on. Thanks, Sparks! I deleted it as well and it's making a huge difference. Also noticed my Google Play Services usage is way down too, which is overall giving me an easy 4 hours SOT.

is it normal that I recover some percentage of battery after turning off my note 4, remove then replace the battery and turning on the phone ?

example :

100% fully charged
using the phone until 90%
turning off the phone and after removing the battery and turning on the phone , i have 95%

i love my battery I also use dr battery and turn off few functions on my phone at night like turning off wifi, bluetooth, sync etc.. I find it helps a lot and I have enough for the next day. You can schedule it which is a cool thing I have mine set for everyday starting at 11:pm :)
