Google Nexus 6P People who have ordered from Huawei

Re: People who have ordered from Huawei

I just received an email from Huawei saying that the 32GB Graphite I ordered on 10/19 has shipped. No tracking information yet but it sounds like that might come in a separate email from the shipper. Order shows 'complete' when I check the Huawei website.

Hopefully, this means others who ordered around the same date will be getting some good news soon as well! :)

When I got that email, I didn't get info from UPS until the next week. I think that means to them that the order has been filled and is in the pile to go out for shipment.

Canceling my Huawei order tomorrow. I ordered a 64 aluminum on 10/19 and haven't heard a single thing. Order the same from Google Store on 10/30.... Phone will be arriving tomorrow.

I really wish I knew why Huawei was so terrible at shipping.

Me too. But every time I go on Google, the only option available is 32gb.

32gb graphite ordered on 10/11 has shipped with tracking # to follow.

Re: People who have ordered from Huawei

I ordered on 10/27 and it's still processing. The estimated delivery was late November. I'd rather wait and be sure I'm getting a fully functioning device than get one now and have to RMA for whatever reason. I don't like being an early adopter because of the quality control issues that can occur with early batches, but I took a chance because of the great reviews. I hope my decision was wise. I figure the longer it takes, the better my chances of getting a good device.

Same point of view here. Let them get it right. We will have the phone soon enough. I seriously think Huawei is about to flood the market at the end of this week or next. And I love the option of buying direct. I did this to support a company that went out and offered the phone directly. Sure the road may be bumpy, but I think they are handling it pretty good. My experience anyway.

In my state, not having to pay sales tax through Google saved me about $50/ I'll take wonky shipping and wait a little longer for $50. I'm cheap

Ditto. I saved about $30 in taxes though. Money kept in my pocket today will always trump a credit for service that would take me ages to use up ($50 Google Play credit).

Between saving on taxes and having the option to finance the phone (without switching to Fi), going through Huawei is my only option. And I'd rather wait an extra week or so and get the 6P than use my JUMP upgrade on anything else that I could get through T-Mobile

Yep, I believe the savings on taxes will offset the finance charges on my purchase. It would have been sweet @ 0% financed but the tax savings make it a wash.

Same here. Saving 45-50 going straight through the OEM back in my pocket and not back in the pocket of the play store is better for me. Ordered the 64GB aluminium model on Oct. 20th from Huawei after they had issues with their site for 3 hrs. No shipping info yet though. The only thing I will miss is the Nexus Protect I really wanted to get, but is only offered from Google. I was tempted to take my wait list email from Google I received the other day and cancel my Huawei order, but I won't...will stick it out for now.

Re: People who have ordered from Huawei

You could always work out selling the play store credit :)

I had an order with Huawei for the 64GB but they seem to be pretty disorganized possibly playing games with who gets what. Granted, Google wasnt really that organized either but they somehow manage to keep their stock status accurate on the website (i.e. if they cant fill the order they wont let you order it)

Ordered on 10/29, 64GB aluminum on track for delivery tomorrow. And Huawei is still saying 3-4 weeks?

If we're really worried about getting bad devices because of early/quickly shipped orders, who do you think will be better about giving you a replacement? Google or Huawei?

Re: People who have ordered from Huawei

Got my "preparing shipment" email last night. No tracking number was on the email. The email stated the phone ship date as Nov 2. I ordered on Oct 20. I would of ordered from Google but the $50 in additional tax is too much. I'm glad Huawei is starting to fill some more orders though.

Re: People who have ordered from Huawei

So, I ordered the 32 GB Aluminum from Huawei on 10/27. Last I checked, it's still processing. I'm not what you'd call a heavy user by any means. I'm not a photographer, nor am I a gamer. In fact, to underscore the lightness of my usage, I'm currently using a 16 GB international variant S3. 4.65 GB is used up for the system, and I'm using up 3.48 GB, and 7.67 GB remain. I also have a 16 GB micro SD card that's barely used.

Obviously, going by this usage, the 25 GB of actual storage on the 32 GB 6P would more than likely be enough for me, especially since I stream my music on Play. Yet, I'm tempted to cancel my order and grab a 64 GB Aluminum. Am I just being greedy if I went ahead and did that? Can I make do with 32 GB based on my usage?

I think they ship from LA, OH, and TX, from what I've seen. They operate until 9PM Central.

I have been following another Nexus 6P forum and from what others have said, the actual shipment of the phone is two days after receiving the "order complete" email from Huawei. Hopefully that is that plan and our phones ship tomorrow.

Re: People who have ordered from Huawei

I hope it ships from ca since I live here. the faster the better.

Re: People who have ordered from Huawei

Can't decide. I was late in October getting my order in. Now Google has it to ship by the 12th, probably sooner. And I could get nexus protect.

But if I buy it through google. With protect and taxes, I am out an extra 147 dollars. Which hurts. I am pretty good to my phones, keep them cased and screen protectors. I just wasn't a fan of how hard it is to work on after ifixit took one apart
