Google Nexus 6P People who have ordered from Huawei

canceled Huawei order, went thru google.

So after waiting forever with no communication from Huawei (4 messages sent, none returned, never able to do a chat) I canceled my order for the 32gb model. I got my Fi invite yesterday so I went and signed up and got my 64gb silver ordered. I did the affirm option with Huawei and it was going to be 54 bucks a month for a year. With the minimum plan from Google Fi (30 for plan, 22 for phone) it was basically the same price and more storage. I know it's 24 months vs 12 months but I'm assuming in can pay the phone off faster either by just paying it off or canceling Fi and paying off the remainder of the phone since I have verizon now I plan on using. I'll def give Fi a shot and see if it works. I get 10gb of data and unlimited for 75 a month thru verizon so it's def a better value.

One thing I was wondering if anyone knows is since I don't get charged for Fi until activate my sim, could I just not activate the sim and just pay the 22 for the phone a month? With the idea of overpaying to pay it off quickly and just have the Fi sim around just in case I decide to cancel my verizon?

Also Google said there was about 2-3 weeks ship time on the alum 64gb. Sounds like that turn around is actually a bit faster though based on what people are reporting?

Re: canceled Huawei order, went thru google.

I've canceled my order too, I ordered an aluminum 64gb on 10/14 and was still stuck on "processing". I guess it worked out so I can now order from Google and purchase the Nexus Protect insurance as well.

Ordered 128GB Aluminum on 11/2. My order was originally projected to ship last week of November to be delivered first week of December. Since I'm so impatient to get this device I call customer service today not really expecting any change but hoping nonetheless. To my surprise there was a change. Just not the change in was hoping for. Now I'm told it isn't expected to ship until mid December. The representative told me that they are partnered with Google and their supply is going to Google to satisfy those orders first. Even at the expense of shorting or at least delaying orders that are made directly through their own site.

Now that makes sense to me. I was told 3rd or 4th week this month. We'll see if that holds true.

Hopefully you'll have it soon. The reason I ordered through Huawei directly was the 128GB Aluminum is still showing out of stock in the Google Store. But I have my Note 5 so not really sweating the wait. Really just more anxious and excited to get it than anything. Part of the fun of getting a new device is that anticipation you have waiting for it to show up on ya doorstep.

OK. Cool. Unfortunately I couldn't even add the 128GB to my cart. I only could join the waitlist.

Re: People who have ordered from Huawei

I hate to echo what's been said several times but, I placed my order on 10/22. I was quoted a late November delivery. Which they have yet to miss so I have no hard feelings towards Huawei. I ordered from Huawei originally because the configuration I wanted was unavailable from Google. Saving the sales tax and taking advantage of the Affirm financing was a big plus as well. Anyways after reading about so many people placing and receiving their orders so quickly from Google, I decided to do the same. I canceled my Huawei order and placed my Google order yesterday 11/10. Today 11/11, my Google order shipped and I'll have it tomorrow 11/12! After factoring in the Affirm interest charge and the Tax I'm now paying by ordering with Google, my Google order is less than $20 more.

Same here. The 12 month financing was 54 a month with Huawei for 32gb. 24 month with google fi financing and a $30 a month plan is actually a couple bucks cheaper.

Re: People who have ordered from Huawei

Any updates??

Ordered a 128GB Aluminum on Oct 21 and still no tracking info??

Re: People who have ordered from Huawei

Just adding my experience. I ordered from Huawei on 10/30 and was put on the waitlist. Then on 11/3, I got an email saying they were ready to be ordered, so I paid with credit card to get it. It went into the infamous "processing." Meanwhile, I snooped around on the Google Store site mainly for interest in Project Fi. I don't remember doing it, but I must have submitted a waitlist request around the same time of 11/3 or so. Then I get an email from Google Store on 11/9, saying my phone was ready. I ordered and they actually gave me an expected delivery date of about one week later. Imagine my surprise when the phone arrived at my door from Google store on 11/10, the NEXT DAY. I checked my Huawei order and it was still in processing, with expected delivery date of early December. That order was cancelled. I'm just glad I decided NOT to wait on Huawei. (Although for me the biggest advantage with Huawei was their 30 day return policy as opposed to Google's 15 day; for me that mattered because I wasn't sure I was going to be able to handle a large phone, but in the couple of days I've been dabbling, I'm adjusting so 15 days may be fine).

Re: People who have ordered from Huawei

I purchased from Huawei on 10/22. Yesterday I chatted with an online rep who told me that it should ship at the end of the month. I decided to cancel my order yesterday and order from Google. Mainly, I wanted Nexus protect after some reports of glass cracking on its own, etc. Anyway, it arrived today with free overnight shipping (I selected standard shipping at checkout). Phone works great so far! 64 GB Aluminum.

Re: People who have ordered from Huawei

I called Huawei on Thursday. I ordered my 32GB Nexus 6P from them on 10/21. The rep said it should have shipped by now. She couldn't offer a reason why it hasn't. I was polite as I explained that my first Affirm payment is due next week so I was naturally concerned about not having the phone yet.
Yesterday I received an email from Huawei with an apology and a code for a free bluetooth speaker. So at least I've got that going for me...which is nice.

Re: People who have ordered from Huawei

Never got the free speaker code. I canceled and ordered from Google. Will have the phone Monday morning. And all of this was done Friday afternoon.

I hated paying tax, but not a huge deal. I do think that Google messed up the tax system. They charge tax on the insurance. Not that I got it. But insurance should not have been taxed in most cases.

Called last night to check on my order (64 GB aluminum, placed on 10/26) because my first Affirm payment is due soon, and I wanted to make sure I had the device in hand before I started paying on it. The rep told me that I should expect my phone to ship next week or the week after, and that I would have it by the end of the month. She also suggested that if I didn't have my phone by my first payment date that I could call Affirm and try and push my payment back. It felt like typical blame passing, but I was prepared to keep calling and bugging whoever I needed to in order to get my phone before I started to pay on the plan.

But today, my luck turned for the better. About half an hour ago, I got an email from Huawei that my order was being prepared for shipping! Safe to say when I saw the email, I giggled like a schoolgirl. Which, as a mid-20s male with a beard (No Shave November, yo), got me a few weird looks as I was walking out of class.

I didn't notice that at first in my email, but also says "Shipped on 11/17/2015 via Other, tracking number" on mine.

Just got the shipping email from UPS. Estimated delivery is Friday! (I'm going out of town for the weekend on Friday, but the package would go to the leasing office of my apartment complex anyway) I have a tracking number, but it's not showing up as live, so I don't know where it is coming from. (If they are smart and OH is an option, that would make the most sense since that's where I live! :P)
