Re: Joban's Kernel 2.03 (Overclock, CM7 2.3.7 etc..) **WIFI FIXED

Thanks for the work. Can this be thrown overtop of the old kernel or should wipe the OS and start from scratch?

I threw it on top of the old kernel and saw no difference so far (sonygen 1.2 Final)

well im not sure if it fixed it but i did some fixing up in the senors from the v20e source.

Sorry man its a no go on the sensor, or at least for the sonygen 1.2 Final rom, I don't really wanna go to a different rom seeings AD2P works on this rom. (as in my stereo bluetooth is seen as a headset not just a media exstension.)

Re: Joban's Kernel 2.03 (Overclock, CM7 2.3.7 etc..) **WIFI FIXED

I assume you lose ThinkFree Office with these ROMs (?). That's one of the big reasons I've been holding off. Just noticed that Amazon's free app today is OfficeSuite Pro, and should fill that void.

Gyro is still pretty important for me, so it sounds like that may be the last thing holding me back (A2DP is also pretty important. Sounds like that's hit-or-miss depending on whether you use SonyGen or CyanoGen?)

Gyro is important for me too, but so far there has been no luck on it. Yeah you'll lose ThinkFree Office, however you can always try google docs, or a different one as there are still many out there, and many methods...

As for your comparison of SonyGen and CyanoGen, the SonyGen rom some of us are using is based on CyanoGen 7 (version i don't know), it seems to have a slight change about it that's seeing A2DP as it should, cause when i was looking through bug reports for CyanoGen there is a break with A2DP with all other roms. So whatever was done to port the Sony Ericsson firmware to the P500 it brought along a fix that makes A2DP work. Heres a link to the SonygenMod rom. (I also made a typo before thats probably confused you, the rom itself isn't called just SonyGen, its called SonygenMod)

Thats why its always good to do a Nandroid backup before doing something to your phone. I did and I didn't need it but i had it.

Re: Joban's Kernel 2.03 (Overclock, CM7 2.3.7 etc..) **WIFI FIXED

I would have but at this stage in getting things working I dont see the point in backing up a rom that is pretty much the same as when I installed it. Turns out after clearing all the cache and such in CWM I didnt need to reinstall the ROM just the Kernel. BTW what kernel is joban v2.04 is it joban #6 or #7?

Re: Joban's Kernel 2.03 (Overclock, CM7 2.3.7 etc..) **WIFI FIXED

Alright guys i stayed up until 2 last night and guess what! I FIXED IT! new zip coming soon.

Re: Joban's Kernel 2.03 (Overclock, CM7 2.3.7 etc..) **WIFI FIXED

Honestly if I were you I would go with both the build number and the version number but make the two match some how. Maybe make your 2.0x number match the build so build 8 = v2.08. The build is how you can tell from the within the OS what version of your kernel build we are running.

BTW what did you fix exactly? the gyro issue?

Re: Joban's Kernel 2.08 (Overclock, CM7 2.3.7 etc..) **Gyro Fixed

Ok the new zip file is up! So enjoy! and yea i made it now v2.08. I fixed the gyro by creating my own code and made a folder called gyro in the senors files and imported that into the mkconfig, may should like rubbish to you but it works now thats all it matters! :)

Also im thinking of making a PayPal account for donations, but how many are actually willing to donate? :D

Considering you've made this guy reconsider trashing this phone for an easier one to mod, I would be.

Edit: it works! You are the freaking man!

Nobody else has chimed in and I'm considering myself the first (aside from you). Ergo, bleeding edge.

Thanks so much! I'm totally going to donate! Do we still need to install the GPS on top of this one?
