Re: Joban's Kernel 2.08 (Overclock, CM7 2.3.7 etc..) **Gyro Fixed

I don't see why not. As long as it doesn't state its for a certain carrier that your not on.

you need to be more specific. "original cm7"? what version.. 2.3.7? 2.3.5? im sure it goes older...really the only diff you going to see between these roms is quadrent scores, battery life, and not so laggy in certain areas.. the real question is "what bugs am i willing to live with?" when chooseing a rom.,, all you needed to do is read this thread to figure that out...lol....thats all we've been doing from the begining...

When I said original cm7, I meant the original one posted in this thread i.e. 2.3.7. Where are the differences and what bugs have you seen? IIRC, you ran 2.3.7 for a while and switched to this one. I'm just curious since 2.3.7 is the most stable one I've had to date.

Anyone find a fix for the blank screen before unlocking when using a static wallpaper? :(

Re: Joban's Kernel 2.08 (Overclock, CM7 2.3.7 etc..) **Gyro Fixed

Crackerteg...I switched because I got the com.android.phone. error. Wasn't a fix at the time and I rely on my phone working. I got the error so bad the second time it froze my phone. Went to sonygen, works ok, erratic call log error. Then this one. Haven't had an error sense flashing. Though now that I am bragging about it being stable I am Having what I think is an app conflickt. (Sigh).

What's the conflict?

Also,I figured out my skewed video issue when I overclock. Turns out, if I use ondemand and overclock, my video skews. If I use performance, I can overclock to my heart's content. SetCPU has some sweet profiles I can use to keep my battery consumption down to about stock but have the performance I want. Just thought I should share my findings.

Did you install flash? I just did earlier today but haven't tested it yet. Didn't know I could until I found the work around.

yes i new about it.. i got 10.2 installed though i dont see a diff.... got 10.3 downloaded but havent extracted it yet to install... supposed to be able to run on arm6, 10.2 wasnt... I kinda gave up lookin for
anyother versions as adobe says that no version will run on arm6..... is the work around you found the one for the 10.3?

I don't see netflix everworking on this device as long as flash is involved. I read somewhere within the past few days that netflix has decided to abandon support for mobile devices. So our only hope for netflix will probably be a non-flash way of doing things. I think the biggest problem with netflix on these phones is the DRM they put on the stream is a little too much for the processor to handle. Clearly these phones can do video or youtube wouldnt work so my guess is the problem lay with the antipiracy measures netflix put in place.

i agree that our phones just cant handle it, but i dont agree that netflix will abandon moble support. the wifes 2 or 3 gen ipod plays netflix flawlessly. i guessin that it comes down to processor.

So out of curiosity, if I really ever wanted to return to stock software(which I most likely wont), how would I do that?

Personally no idea, unless we see an update, on the flip side there is a pretty much totally stock minus deodexed rom for the thrive that works for the phoenix as well, that would work, me i made sure to have a backup of the stock rooted firmware on my pc, from CWM.
