LG G4 Battery Life Thread

Re: LG G4 battery drain HELP!

There is your problem. Keep awake is 51 minutes. Phone isn't sleeping at all. Now we just need to figure out what it is.

This is exactly how my issue with Fenix for Twitter displayed itself when I first got the G4 in June. Fenix seemed to be operating normally, and there was no indication in its own battery stats that there was an issue. Only through trial and error (based on educated guesses) did I finally fix the problem with an uninstall of Fenix.

Facnypantsmance, did you happen to use LG baclup to restore your apps and data at any point? I'm coinvinced it doesn't restore everything smoothly. I don't think Fenix is an issue, but that my copy was not restored properly.

I would start by looking at any apps that sync (Google, Twitter, Facebook, news apps with push notifications, etc.). Are any not sending you consistent push notifications? If any are not, unistall that app or apps first and see if the battery drain slows.

If all your notifications seem fine, work methodically through the same types of apps and see if unistalling one fixes your issue.

I freely admit this is a PitA.

Good luck.

Re: LG G4 battery drain HELP!

The delayed rise of the issue when using a new battery is what's still throwing me, though. Can you think of anything app-wise that corresponds to that timeframe?

Re: LG G4 battery drain HELP!

I don't use NFC for anything. I never used LG backup. I just uninstalled facebook, and twitter, and turned off push notifications for gmail. I'll see what happens.

If you don't use NFC turn it off. In your screenshots, it's running.

Re: LG G4 battery drain HELP!

Since I uninstalled facebook, and twitter, and turned off push notifications on gmail, this past hour my battery hasn't even drained 1%. Thanks everyone for all your help!

Re: LG G4 battery drain HELP!

Same thing is happening to me. It started after the recent AT&T update, like literally that day. Ticking me off because I had AMAZING battery life beforehand. By the time I plugged my phone in at 10 or 11 PM it was still at least at 50%. No apps or settings have been changed.

Mine either. Getting rid of it did a bit of good though. I love the program just wish they would optimize it better.

Re: LG G4 battery drain HELP!

On my G4 "Android System" is my biggest battery drain, currently at 43% while the screen is only 5%. It shows a keep awake since last charge at 4h 20m 13s (last charge was about 6 hours ago). I was able to get WLD (WakeLock Detector) installed (not easy!) and it shows that Google Play Store has kept my CPU awake for 6h 17m over the past 1d 4h! This seems to be the biggest battery drain item. How do I prevent the Google Play Store from doing this? I have app auto updates turned off in it. Obviously this isn't an app that I want to disable or remove (if it is even possible).

Any suggestions?

Go to apps-all, select Google play store and uninstall updates. Next time you open the play store, it should reinstall those updates. Basically resets that app. Usually clears up battery drain issues.

Re: Turn off battery charge sound?

yeah for a year the battery full lights the screen chirps goes dim after a few seconds does it again. LG and Sprint in emails told me to "FO" thats the way it works to save energy. I'm not rooting my phone to fix an obnoxious bug, I'm switch to an iPhone6s. Hasta la Veests Google and LG.

Re: Turn off battery charge sound?

A little food for thought: Keeping a lithium battery plugged in once full, overnight, can shorten its life. That won't directly change any sounds, but will stop it from waking you up at night. ;)

Re: Battery problem?

Actually i prefer 1080P to 2k,cuz i cant stand the problem with battery though it looks like more beautiful!!!!

Is this normal battery drain?

This weekend I was golfing with my father-in-law in a somewhat rural area (3G coverage). When we started the round I was at 82%. Two holes later (15-20 minute) I was at 64. By the end of the round (2 hrs 15 min or so) I was at 20! It does the same thing when I'm "up north" at my folks' in a poor coverage area. No apps running, phone just sitting idle in my pocket. No wonder they threw in an extra battery. Is this normal??

Re: Is this normal battery drain?

Did you take any screenshots of the battery usage? Did you look to see if your phone went into roaming or lost service completely? Both of those things, especially having no service, can call any kill battery quickly.
