LG G4 Battery Life Thread

Re: Why is "Android System" using up so much of my battery?

Your keep awake time is ridiculously high, there is some kind of app/apps keeping your phone awake for way to long

Re: Why is "Android System" using up so much of my battery?

Download an app like greenify or LG access lock and kill all apps that use keep awake or location services that don't need it

Re: My Final Word On G4 Battery Life

I mean no offense to you personally, but I put as much stock in the battery
"science" we tend to see as I do in the FDR-fixes-all-your-problems copout.

A factory reset isn't meant to be a fix all your problems solution. It's simply a means to distinguish whether the user has a software or a hardware issue.

I know what it is. I also know how it's used. It's clearly a cure all in the absence of actually fixing problems.

Is there an app to tell you simply which apps are keeping phone awake? I will feeze manually then uninstall the app that tells me the offenders.

Re: Why is "Android System" using up so much of my battery?

I find mostly all the apps I download have keep awake and location services on, that doesn't mean they always use them. Download LG access lock and it will tell you if and how much apps are using it

Re: My Final Word On G4 Battery Life

I've been charging overnight for many years. From various BlackBerry models, to the Droid Razr Maxx HD, to the Droid Maxx, to the Droid Turbo, to the G4.

Been doing the same thing forever...with no issues. Even if I did have issues I'd just get a new battery and chuck the old one. Working in the field all day, I'm not starting my day with 40% charge...no way. Every night charge and I'm not the slightest bit concerned of the ramifications.

Re: My Final Word On G4 Battery Life

I'm just going by my personal experience, and that of others that use lithium batteries. The OEM in my Bionic was toast in less than a year when using my old charging practices. I replaced it with an extended battery that lasted over a year with my current charging before I shelved it. I put the battery at about 60% storage charge when I upgraded to my M8. I'm back on the Bionic nearly two years later because said M8 is dead and waiting on my G4. Battery life is just as good as when it was shelved.

Re: Why is "Android System" using up so much of my battery?

Thanks for the suggestions so far. I have been using LG Access Lock and have keep awake disabled on every app that it lists. The problem is that it only lists apps that I've installed, it doesn't let me get to setting for any pre-installed apps (like Facebook and Chrome). Is there anything that will do the same for the pre-installed apps?

Re: My LG G4 is stuck at 80% battery and isn't recognizing my sim card.

I rebooted my phone today and the battery was stuck on 80% and it claimed that my service was disabled. It took multiple reboots for my phone to stop glitching. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

I'm using T-Mobile and I'm using the LG-H811 model

Mine is the AT&T version and it does it too mines getting replaced this week it only gets worse.

Try the debloater tool, install it on your pc and start with that. It doesn't do them all but I think you can do a few that come pre installed by your service provider. As for facebook, I turned off sync and push notifications for them. I use an alternative for chrome....chrome beta and #nochromo. You can't see the keep awake time time for them but I know the applications are very easy on the operating system. Without being rooted, I don't believe you can do much more

Re: Why is "Android System" using up so much of my battery?

It's your gps causing it I've been trying to rectify the problem all weekend but haven't found a permanent remedy yet

Re: My Final Word On G4 Battery Life

The quick answer is get Lux (there's a free version but I paid for it). Chances are you can set your brightness much more dim than the G4 will set it by itself, or than a constant 35%. Lux is a great tool.
Its ok i got the pro version for free. However what more is required for better SOT

Re: My Final Word On G4 Battery Life

The most screen on time that I got was about 7 1/2 hours but this was due to Sprint sending out a system update with a system notification which turned on my screen and kept it on while I was sleeping so nothing else was really going on with the phone during the time.

I keep my phone at auto brightness at 80% and most of the time battery usage for the screen is in single digit percentages when I go to recharge. Even that time I had the overnight screen on issue due to the Spint notification the screen only used about 35% of the battery.

The screen on this thing is amazingly efficient.

Well, there's a first.
