Before I reset my phone.
The security update everybody thinks they got to have.
The update turned Bixby on my phone on.
.it updated to Android 11.
Every alert on my phone was turned on.
Every notification was turned on.
To power my phone off.
I had to press the volume down and power key to turn my phone off.
.everybody thinks it's very, very important for security updates...
Why !
I don't do and will not do backing on my phone.
So what is all the security updates for ?
What's going to get stolen.
Pictures ..
Contacts.
.really..
Steal it.
.
Whats bad is mfg made it so you can't replace the battery ..
Why.
So the police can track you.
Know your daily moves.
Incase they want to come and pick you up.
That is the worst thing right there...

It's just a security update , yeah things can get turn on after a update just turn back off . I don't know why it's happening with yours but last update I flashed through odin and everything stayed the same, this time I waited for the OTA and everything same.
My niece walked in here
She is 8 years old.
Asked to borrow my phone.
My nephew won't buy her one.
I handed my phone to her.
She updated it.
Nothing I can see right now changed .
Whew.

Looking for the steps to flash latest firmware for unlocked note 20 ultra. On tmo network US. Can you please direct me to the steps?
I have done some phone updates in the past on S10 but don't remember how to use Odin....

This is the steps :
Windows computer needed
Latest Odin can Google it from XDA Forums and download the latest should be Odin 3.14.1 / and Frija tool or samfirm (i usually download both)
Download samfirm v0.4.1 tool and frija, extract it with 7zip.
You will extract files for Odin prince comsey 3.14.1once download with 7zip and will do same for firmware with 7zip .
Put your model number then region and select check for updates , then download the FIRMWARE , extract the FIRMWARE with 7zip.
There will be 4 files after you extract the firmware

CSC
Each of those files will go in Odin when you open to the corresponding slots

Home slot don't out anything
CSC USE HOME CSC FIILE TO SAVE DATA /THIS ONLY GOING BETWEEN CARRIER FIRMWARE OR IF YOUR ON UNLOCKED GOING BETWEEN UNLOCKED FIRMWARE
If you going from carrier to unlock firmware keep regular CSC not home CSC and do a back up it will factory reset the device.
connect your phone with cable to computer , once the files are in its slots hit start, once done you'll see pass in Odin and it will reboot
*Make sure you put phone in download mode
*If dont see your phone connected in Odin change cables or ports in computer .
*Never disconnect the cable in middle of flashing.

Correct home csc to not factory reset , use frija for firmware and put your model number and region XAA

My experience unlocked have been faster to security updates, OS carrier have. They come from Samsung but carrier dim dictate how fast they are released based on them certifing them
This happened with my note 9. It's frustrating when you do an update and it changes your set functions. Grrr

Hi Mustang. I downloaded Frija and checked the firmware for my Samsung SM-N986U1. It's exactly the same as what's on my phone.
I'm confused how to use this with Odin.
Any advice?

Hello , when you downloaded frija and unzip it , now put your model number and region and it should show the build number that's available
