No. Samsung is asking people to power down the device and exchange it. Read the linked Samsung update above.
I think they were looking for a link to Samsung's news release of samsung actually saying that. I didn't see a link to it in the articles linked above.
Here's where Samsung says to power it down.

This has turned into a disaster. Its looking like if I want a bigger screen I either go get an edge or go back to my iPhone 6 plus. Neither option sounds appealing.

I would be happy to just be able to exchange my Note 7 for a new one right about now.
Next week isn't looking good now for replacements.
they gave us a watch and $25 gift card upon exchange. theres no way we are getting more
