Regarding Dec. 9 no longer being the unofficial date

Lol unfortunately i agree. Sunday? Only pos enhancements happen on Sundays

yea true perhaps. but AT&T released their NitroHD last Sunday. a transparent launch... it just appeared in their lineup. maybe V doesn't do like this, but it could happen i guess.

I am going to be checking Verizon for online sales as well tomorrow, Saturday, Sunday,...
I heard multiple times that there are no pre-orders on this launch. But, if they sell it to you a few days ahead of the brick and mortars, that's not really a pre-order, is it?

I am holding out hope that I don't have to worry about purchasing one of these on my lunch break during the week. :)

Lol! You really believe that? I had the Eris and the Incredible and HTC is notoriously slow on the OS updates. The problem is getting Sense to work with any OS update. Sense is so intertwined with the OS that it takes alot to get it working right.

Don't expect ICS on any HTC phone before April, unless the phone launches with it.

And who knows what ICS is going to look like after HTC's done with it. God knows they'll prioritize Sense over ICS.

Just talked to a Verizon rep and its confirmed that tomorrow will be the day the Galaxy Nexus is available to the masses, that tonight they will be rearranging the walls and phones to showcase the new guy, the Galaxy Nexus!

Yes they will. Sense will look just like it does now. Of course most of the ICS features will be present, just wrapped in Sense.

One rep says its a go for tomorrow, another says no go. Who to believe? Decisions....

Are you trolling us right now? There are a lot of bitter, angry posters around these parts.

WHAT?

When the gn does release a few days later you will have to needlessly pay the restocking fee, when you return it. Deep down you know the Nexus will be a better phone right?

Actually no, I don't play that game, nor do I buy phones just to have the latest. The Nexus was what I wanted because of ICS. But after finding out that camera wasn't as good as the SGS II, and that really the hardware as a whole isn't anything much better than the Rezound (I understand it's subjective but really it's a matter of preference in SAMOLED vs LCD), and then coupled with the launch debacle, I really have been wanting it less and less. ICS is the biggest selling point for me but honestly I like Sense and will be more than happy with the Rezound until it gets ICS. So no I will not be eating a restocking fee. I'll enjoy my Rezound and look forward to what is announced at CES in addition to ICS for the Rezound and Sense 4.0.

I called a Verizon rep in Hazlet, NJ 10 minutes ago. The lady was super kind and put me on hold when I inquired about the Galaxy Nexus and its availability tomorrow. After about 30 seconds or so she told me that the Nexus was supposed to be released tomorrow but has been delayed for an "unknown reason". She also told me that there is also a delay with a Motorola phone as well. I am not sure if they are both delayed for the same underlying reason though. Before I got off the phone I was asked to just check online after midnight because sometimes they are told things literally last minute. Nevertheless, I will check online before heading to work tomorrow morning and also call on my lunch to check and see if there is any update. By no means am I expecting the phone to be available tomorrow. :(

The choice is totally up to you. I'm choosing the Nexus for the supposedly great user experience and developer following. I also know it will get updated very quickly unlike HTC phones. I personally can't stand Sense, but if you're fine with it that's great. I know the Rezound is probably a really solid phone, but I'm looking forward to the opportunity to finally own a Nexus on Verizon.

Just called my store in KC. Said it was supposed to be released tomorrow but has been delayed for an unknown reason and they don't know the new release date. So, same thing here. Grrrr

Where is this at?

La QUinta, California Verizon store to release Galaxy Nexus tomorrow !!

Verizon Wireless

La Quinta, CA 92253

This is what I was told an hour ago by two different reps there, crossing my fingers.

Since there is a Verizon on my way to the gym, I'm gonna stop by there tomorrow morning before I workout to see if there just happened to be a miracle.

Here's another date to add to this rumor-mill... Just called an V reseller in South Philly and the guy said "maybe the 11th."

UPDATE: Just called the V kiosk at BJ's (which is a block away from the reseller that I had called earlier). The lady said she doesn't know when it's coming out. Her response: "Verizon pushed it back."
