[ROM] [05.25.11] Das BAMF 1.7

Once we are out of alpha (very close), we will start new threads. Promise. Until then, it will just be a mess, and these aren't daily drivers yet.

1.7 Alpha 8 (almost there)

--Reboot options.
--wake on volume.
--accurate battery is back.
--auto brightness adjusted.
--animations sped up.
--Back to stock kernel, and broken camera. Sorry, but the stock kernel runs as fast as imoseyon's kernel, at 1.4ghz, which is what it clocks to by default settings.
--Working usb mass storage mounting (see above).

Could anyone tell me why the six bars will not stay on my phones? It shows at boot and as soon as I get signal it goes to stock bars?

Did ya'll consider 1.6.3 remix a "beta"...or a "full release"? Just curious as to what to expect in regards to the amount of polish as compared to the 1.6.3 remix I'm currently running (and very much enjoying).

Thanks!

I never noticed if I had it at boot or not, but the first (2) times I loaded this ROM I was missing some components, namely the 6 bar signal meter, the expanded reboot menu and the ability to unlock using the volume slider.

What finally fixed it for me was doing a re-install of the ROM after booting into recovery and manually wiping the cache and doing a full factory reset wipe (i.e. not just installing through ROM Manager).

Got my Thunderbolt last night and i was rooted within a half an hour. Put BAMF 1.6.3 Remix on and never looked back. Lovin it so far. This is my first android phone btw...

Not to speak for Adrynalyne, but the main difference between the 1.6 releases and the 1.7 alpha builds now being release are the fact that 1.7 builds are based off of 2.3.4 (Gingerbread), where as the previous 1.6 releases were 2.2.1 (Froyo).

1.6.3 has been VERY stable for me, and I'd consider it a "polished" release. the newer 1.7 builds aren't going to be as stable for now, although I haven't run any of them yet.

I would have to agree. 1.6.3 Das Bamf is amazing running it now with the updated radio and I couldn't be happier with performance.

Just to add my $.02, I've been running BAMF 1.6.3nte and its working great. I will patiently wait for the 1.7 to get into release status before moving up to it. I don't want to mess with a phone that works for me with essentially no issues, no reboots, no broken camera etc.

Does it matter if I flashed 1.6.3 first and then the new radio? I was running 1.6.2 on the old radio but I flashed 1.6.3 and then noticed the new radio in the non-remix thread. I went backed and flashed the radio recommended in this thread http://forum.androidcentral.com/thu...hacks/80819-rom-05-8-11-das-bamf-1-6-3-a.html but now I do not get 4g at all. Before I was getting 4g even at my house since I am in a good area for 4g. Before I go back to the old radio I thought maybe it makes a difference what order you flash the rom/radio. Thanks.

I noticed that this ROM comes with an app called "PowerControl Settings". It has a picture of flash inside a circle. What is this for?

I am currently rockin this radio... 1.13.605.7. Does that mean That I DO or DON"T need to flash a new radio for this ROM or the new 2.0 Bamf ROM

For this rom you dont but for bamf 2.0 there is an alpha radio in the op of that thread (a gingerbread specific radio i guess)

You can check out the obligatory radio thread for more info (ill get the link for it when i get to a cpu)

So. how do you like this ROM overall? You know what I am coming from... CM7 or skyraider...

And I think Ill leave the radios alone for a while...

You have the updated radio i believe bc you just rooted with the mr1 (updated files i believe) - i think - anyway, any of those radios (the original stock, the updated stock, and the 2 hybrid radios - new lte with old cdma, old lte with new cdma) work with das bamf 1.x roms. I like das bamf nte and remix, i usually switched between the two. They are similar to skyraider - sense 2.0 with options.
I still use adw ex, bc i prefer it to sense launcher, but the sense looks pretty neat on bamf anyway, just not my thing.
Very stable. Bamf toolkit is also neat.
Haven't tried out bamf 2.0 betas yet - these have the new leaked gingerbread sense as i'm sure you've read. These releases have their own radio bc they are built off a different base - the new radio for 2.0 can't be used for froyo (1.x) roms and vice versa.

So, people are saying good things about 2.0 bamf, and i'll probably get around to it later today or tomorrow - but bamf 1.6.2 and 1.6.3 have been seriously pretty awesome all around, paired with the 447 kernel (i've been too lazy to jump on the control freak kernel which is probably similar but with just more tweaks for customization)

If you want stable i recommend 163 bamf with 447 kernel to start with.

Lets say I do flash a new radio, but want to return back to another ROM, which requires my old radio. would I have to find the old radio again and reflash it? and if so, where would I find a list of radios?

If you switch back from a GB ROM to a Froyo ROM, you'll need to flash one of the older radios. The radio from the GB leak does not work with Froyo. Links to various radio files below.

thank you very much for answering my question, I am running dasBamf 1.6.3 remix now and I am loving it so far... Now I am taking the time to set it up the way I like it as well as my smart ass kernel settings and then I'll make a backup... Feels good to be finally rooted I feel like I'm at home now :-)
