[ROM][ACS]SyndicateROM Frozen 1.2 (Updated 6/20)

Just thought I would post a update on my battery issues. After playing around with it over the past couple of day's I am still clueless as to what is causing it but it appears that it is not only this ROM but ACE as well. Originally only saw the issue with Syndicate ROM but it has been doing it on others now. Seems to happen when the battery is around 50% charge or less and after playing angry birds or watching a video etc.

Starting to think I may have a bad battery so replacing it may be my next step.

.

Does this rom have the keyboard lag fix or do we have to flash the patch seperately? Sorry if this has been asked already, only halfway through the thread.

Keyboard lag fix is in the kernel. All of the kernels now for EC05 have the keyboard lag fix incorporated.

Hey I've been having an issue, and I'm not completely sure what it's related to. I don't use my phone's built-in microphone to talk very often (I'm usually on a BT headset or the speakerphone or something) so I haven't noticed this until recently, but I think I may have been having this issue since flashing this ROM a month+ ago.

Anyway, when using the built-in mic people on the other end have a very hard time understanding me and tell me I sound "really far away." This doesn't occur when using any other voice input method. I THINK it may have something to do with the Voodoo sound, but I really have no idea. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Alternatively, is there some method to increase the pickup volume of the built-in mic?

Well I flashed the EB13 Modem last night to see if the EC05 was the source of the problem.
Took it off the charger this morning and went off to work. Made a short phone call and played 1 or 2 quick games of angry birds in the morning. By noon my battery was at 70% still. Did a couple of re-boots and no issue. Things were looking up!

Around 3pm battery was at 50% and still looking good. Did a reboot and ....battery dead :-(
Put it on the car charger for 20 minutes, unplugged and battery was reading 50%. Rebooted and it went to 72%. A hour later waiting for the wife I played a quick game on AB and did a reboot. Battery dead. Re-booted again, battery at 21%. Shut down and pulled the battery, started up and battery at 50%??

So the EB13 modem did not fix the problem and it seems that AB may have something do do with my issues? Strange because I do not have this issue with any other ROM I have tried?

I'm going to try and not launch Angry Birds all day tomorrow and see what happens. Starting to suspect I may have a bad battery? I don't understand why it shows 50% then I reboot and it's dead? Reboot again and it reads something different. Pull the battery and it comes back even different?

Thanks for all the suggestions!

Everything you've been describing happened to me over the past week, word for word. And I didn't even think about it at the time, but it was just after I installed Angry Birds Rio (still not sure if that's actually relevant or not). But I had tried everything you have and had the same results.

Over the last couple days though, I've had better battery life (anywhere from 2-5% per hour on average depending on use). I believe the 2 things that made a difference for me was the fact that I remembered to re-install SetCPU (can't believe I forgot it) and JuiceDefender. I've been running SetCPU with conservative scaling with my max at 1000 and my min at 200 mhz. And for JuiceDefender, I've just been using the Default profile. Like I said, so far I've noticed a huge difference, hopefully that doesn't change. I never did figure out what actually caused the extreme drain and variance in battery level readings though.

Oh, I also uninstalled Angry Birds, since I hardly ever played.

Hope this helps.

In voodoo look at microphone recording presets. There are 4 options for the mic in there. My fiancee has a stock epic. Before I flashed the rom the mic pickup was really bad. Now she can hear me wisper on my epic but if I do the same thing using hers she can't hear me.

Ok, I have a few questions.

While using the SetCPU I have it set to ondemand. I have max set to 1000 and min set to 200. I have the widget running with polling. It will drop to 100mhz while the phone is at idle. Is this not adjustable? Or am I on the wrong setting?

And what exactley is the black screen? mine some times will go black when closing a program or game I have been using for 5+ min. Then sometimes it force closes the launcher.

And I might be crazy but when I use a theme it seems to be more unstable.

I had the same issue using SFR. I am too curious on why it did that. When I swapped kernels it went away. I wonder if it had something to do with SetCPU??? Right now I just use Voltage Control, I unistalled SetCPU with the kernel change.

Flash the EB13 modem before doing that. It will probably solve your issues.

That's just the way the governor functions - don't worry about it.

Did you pull your battery recently? If not - that's probably just the same, tired old freeze. It's trivial to solve, just flash VisionKernel 1.1 or Genocide.

Thats probably what solved my issue. When I switched to Genocide the freeze issue never came up again.

So I am using SRF 1.0.1 (i do NOT like 1.1, every install i've tried, every setup, has horrid battery life, and is wrought with bugs) and have been doing so for a while now. Today i went to do a google search for my old highschools phone number. The search feature worked, but as soon as it opened the browser the screen started to change colors. It looked like it suddenly lost power (battery life was @ 81%), and the screen changed to a greenish/redish hue with horizontal lines through it. it faded to black quickly, within probably 10 seconds- and ended up being black with dark gray lines across it. had to do a battery pull / cwm cache wipe to fix FC's. hasn't repeated... but was definitely weird. any ideas what happened???

(this just makes me even MORE eager for ACE 2.0)

I am having this same problem over and over as well as the browser (all browsers - opera, firefox, dolphin, stock) - lockup. i just flashed vision1.1 kernel and it still did it. just wiped again. hopefully this will go away with wipe. going to test it more. i also set cpu to performance to see if that changes things. been on a few sites and its not locking yet.

If you still keep getting lockups/freezes then try Twilight Zone v1.0.4 kernel, its very solid and has resolved many lockup/freezing issues for many.. You can find it from the same thread as the newer Twilight Zone kernel, look further down on the OP page and you will see the older kernels listed.

Totally agree with Paul = Twilight Zone v1.0.4 kernal has worked great for my phone

how is the battery life?
Way better than stock ROMs. Putting an actual hour or number on battery life is impossible though, because everyone has different usage styles. Overall you should easily see a 12-16 hr day on this ROM or any of the newer EC05 custom ROMs. Playing with different kernels will vary battery life too.

I've managed (with juice defender ultimate. SFR [or ACE], and misc common battery savings habits) to get 48 hours on a full charge with little to no use. I suspect heavy use would be more like 24 hours on a full charge in my case.

I have been running SRF/BS 1.2 low kernel with journaling on for several weeks and it has been flawless until yesterday when it started freezing and re-booting. I have had this happen several times in the last day or so. It seems to happen while I am using the phone while its charging.

I wiped the cache/dalvik but am wondering if I need to do a complete wipe and re-flash or odin back to stock and then re-flash? Thx.
