[ROM] Android Open Kang Project- Jelly Bean Style

Play Movies = GAPPs issue. Use a different package.

Re: kernel - franco. I've never liked faux and have absolutely no idea why it's included.

Second for Franco Kernels. Battery life was good with Faux for me, but thats about it on the pro side. Speed is great with Franco, its a vary well rounded kernel.

Here is my only issue. And I love what AOKP has done so far, it's quite the improvement from the first builds. My issue is in regards to the Play Store on this particular ROM. And it was an issue that I had with Skank Jellybro until it was recently fixed in a build. And I'm curious to see if anyone else has this issue or has a resolution.

The issue is that when you download several items from the Google Play store, and shut the screen off on the phone, it goes into the BSOD and thus soft resets the phone. Anyone else having this issue?

Thanks.

I haven't had this issue yet I haven't tried downloading multiple things from the play store either. If its a marketplace problem it is probably the GAPPS you are using, not the ROM. The play store doesn't come preinstalled on these ROMs, that's what GAPPS are for. Start by downloading a new, different GAPPS package.

This happened to me yesterday.

I think he is making a Windoz reference BSOD = Blue Screen Of Death, that terrible blue sceen we all get from time to time when your PC locks up for no apparent reason but makes you reboot the Windoz os.
and my best guess is a soft reset is like when you "reboot/restart" without a power down of a system.

HAH! I like the comparison.

I just flashed Fraco's milestone 5 on my AOKP B1 ROM today, first time I've ever flashed a kernel and I'm liking the results so far.

Faux felt fine immediately after installation but after a few days of usage it just seemed to get sluggish. I noticed an immediate difference after flashing francos, and I swear Im getting better battery life too. Obviously I'll wait a few days before making an hones judgement but everyone says francos rocks so I'm not worried.

Where did you find Franco's Milestone? His app only shows me nightly releases and says there is no milestone build....

In my case, it was the Black Screen of Death.

@Poseign, it's definitely not the GAPPS. The reason being is that I'm using the same GAPPS with Skank Jellybro and I haven't had an issue with the play store causing lockups.

I have been playing around with both ROMS and I think it may all be caused by the Kernel. I was using the one that came with AOKP and it was causing the issue initially. So I now switched to Franco to see if it may cause the same issue. Will have to wait and see at this point.

No disrespect to the dev or to AOKP, but the constant inclusion of faux's kernel is mindboggling. My device has never liked it, it has always caused issues, and it makes my phone feel like a 2 year old EVO 3D.

Where are you getting Franco's Milestone from? His app says one isn't available. Only the nightly releases.

So, after a problem with CWM bricked my Transformer Prime, I've decided to finally make the jump to TWRP. If I have CWM already on my phone, can I just install the Goo Manager app, press that Install OpenRecoveryScript button, and install TWRP that way?

Edit: Oh, sorry, meant to put this in one of the more general topics, but I'm always hanging out in the AOKP thread and just posted without thinking.

Over in the XDA forums, right here to be exact: [KERNEL][GPL][20 AUG - Milestone 5][r200-ICS r241-JB] franco.Kernel | 4.0/4.1 | - xda-developers (Im not sure if posting this was against forum rules or not, so i sorry if so I wont do it again)

If you are still on ICS, it would make sense for you to not see that a milestone was available because apparently M5 is only for JB roms. IF you are on JB then IDK, when I downloaded fraco's app it stated that the newest version had support for the M5 release, so I would imagine an up to date app would have seen it.

To day I tried to boot into recovery from the power off menu and the phone died, wouldn't do anything. I had to pull the battery for a couple min and it came back on. I haven't tried to boot into recovery any other way yet.
