[ROM] Android Open Kang Project- Jelly Bean Style

Ok, I must be getting looney. Or maybe I've tried too many JB roms and can't remember which features are with which roms. There are two features I really like and I can't find them in AOKP. Maybe they were in CNA? Maybe they were in CM10? Maybe they're in AOKP and I just can't find them. They are:

1. Long pressing on the volume up to go to the next track in Pandora or Play Music. Long pressing on the volume down button to go to the previous track in Play Music.

2. The option to allow rotation in all directions including upside down. I find it often useful to have the phone turned 180 degrees when the headphones or power is plugged in.

I miss those two features a lot, where are they?

1. Don't know about that. Haven't found it.

2. BAMF has it. I can turn the AC app whichever way I want.

All there is, is bfq and deadline. Which should I use?

Ugh, no access to a computer and androtransfer doesn't DL files on my Toro or grouper. Annoyed. Anyone have a mirror for 0829? Lol

lol yes it will, give it time. It looks like it's not downloading, but it will! Trust me, just DL'd both 8/29's :).

Those are all available in CM10. I highly recommend Euroskank if you go the CM10 route.

I was on Skank for a month and liked CodeName Android better. Then I went to AOKP. It's like an arms race and I love it. I have no particular loyalty and may just end up back on Skank again.

This is an example of what good open source competition should be like and makes me appreciate that I never got sucked into the Apple ecosphere. I have friends that have thousands of dollars tied up in DRM protected iTunes music and want to come to Android but dread the effort necessary to move their music. Whew! Glad I missed that train.

AOKP plus Franco at this point is pretty unstoppable. I came from Skank and the fluidity of AOKP has beaten it out at this point. Plus, navbar options gives it the +1.

Only thing I miss about Skank was the in-Rom color controls and their kernel. I enjoyed the integration and how well it was for a stock. I like Franco colors, but I seemed to have had a better "dial-in" on Skank's.

Running AOKP Build 1 and Franco M5 right now myself, and I must say my phone has never run better.

I'm almost afraid of upgrading either of these again, I just love the performance im getting so much right now. (of course I WILL upgrade these again)

Im right on the bandwagon about the long press music controls. I used these every day in my car and when I went out to mow the lawn and I am missing them like crazy. I ALMOST bit the bullet and flashed CNA a little while back just for these controls, but then Build 1 came out :P

DF some of the AOKP nightlies. They are smoother and faster than build one, IMO

Granted, I haven't flashed anything in awhile, but does anyone use goo.im anymore? The reason I ask is that since build 1 went live, I've been getting a daily reminder that an update is available for my rom. When I open the reminder, it shows AOKP build 1 and a GApps file.

Just curious. I haven't seen goo.im mentioned for awhile.

I do not think that the nightlies are hosted over there. I uninstalled GooManager; update notifications drove me nuts.

Thanks! I just swipe away the notification, but I was curious if goo was still ok for builds & later milestones. I figured if they included a certain GApps pkg, that would be the one to go with. Am I wrong?

Guess I'm a little confused because several GApps pkgs are mentioned in the forums, but folks seem to have their preferences.

The one it keeps "updating" is the same one--the 7/26 build. Just check aokp.co if you have any questions about which one they recommend/prefer. :)

Ahh. I know there's a couple threads like that. I don't have the patience anymore, so I just wait for the every 3 day "official" nightly.
