Yes I turned it off but I still get texts. I already deactivated google voice. I like VVM better since they both send me texts anyway...

YOu will need to flash a stock recovery first, because you need the ZVD radio. That is the only way you will get that radio flashed. Otherwise you will still be on ZVH radio and get NO calls or network.

I"m looking at this thread about it. The MMS is specific to carrier, but it is not stock meaning Sprint. Need help w/CM7 and voice mail issues... What am I supposed to install? (Sprint) - xda-developers

Suggests to Use super private conversation app to block 9016 txt. Spc is a free app

Thanks. All of those posts suggest either use SPC or Redlist. If I have to install an app to block it I guess I'll stay with Go SMS. Go SMS blocks the 9016 text but they still show up in the messaging app. I'll just never use the messaging app anymore...

So, just to be clear, I should use this step since I have Xionia and want to get back to ZVD. Correct? I just don't want to brick my phone and the stock directions are a bit muddy for me to understand entirely.

"b) [Radio: any] / [ROM: any] => stock ZVD Radio/ROM/Recovery
In this case, we will install the ZVD update.zip twice. The first install gets you stock ZVD ROM/Recovery (with your existing radio). Data likely won't work at this point. The second install then adds stock ZVD Radio. From Xionia CWMA Recovery, use "install zip from sdcard" and turn off "signature verfication", then use "apply sdcard:update.zip" to install the ZVD update.zip. After that is done, boot into Recovery and "apply sdcard:update.zip"."

Are those the set that I want?

Yeah that should work. The instructions changed from when i did that. The first time you install the VD update.zip it installs the VD recovery, and VD rom, but still you are on VH radio. So the 2nd time running the update, it will flash the VD radio.

I looked at the guide you provided and I assume I do this option on the guide:

"c) [Radio: any] / [ROM: any] => rooted ZVH Radio/ROM/Recovery
In this case, we just install the ZVD update.zip in Xionia CWMA Recovery knowing there will be a Radio/ROM mismatch and data likely won't work. We don't care because we are just going to root the ROM and go back to ZVH. From Xionia CWMA Recovery, use "install zip from sdcard" and turn off "signature verfication", then use "apply sdcard:update.zip" to install the ZVD update.zip. Next use [GingerSnap] [GingerBreak] to root ZVD. After that follow the ZVH rooting steps."

But, it says my Radio/ROM mismatch will happen. Does installing the ROM fix that since I'm not updating back to ZVH? I'm just confused about which option to follow...

You flash the update.zip with signature verification off with the "install zip from sd card" option. This will replace the stock rom and recovery but not the radio. Reboot phone and return to what is now stock recovery. The then "apply sd card update.zip" which can now flash the radio. Boot back into stock rom zvd now, and do a factory reset in settings>privacy>factory reset. When it boots back into android you are now set to achieve root and then flash your custom recovery.

Now, just a few other questions that I don't quite understand before I attempt this experiment?

Do I need a separate kernel to run this mod? Or can I just straight run the mod after ZVD and Xionia recovery? I'm confused about kernels and their relation to this mod. Will this mod ever work with Gingerbread (ZVH?)? I'm still learning / trying to figure out a lot about phone modding and so pardon my newbie questions.

This comes with the IHO 3.3 Kernel already. But you are free to use any other kernel, i just gave my experience using the others.

Update your profile and prl before running CM7, otherwise you will have to do it manually thru QPST or flash back a stock rom to do it.

Remember to Root after that 2nd ZVD update.

Just a few more questions: do I do the profile/prl update after I root with Xionia, just before the mod-flash? Also, how do I get updates for this mod? Do I just re-flash after they get released or is there a built in updater?

I've read your thread, but not knowing a lot of the terminology, sometimes I get confused...

I think it does it automatically the first time you boot into it, but check to see if you have 3G and can place calls. You update the prl and profile before or after root. Updates come once a week if there is something new or fixed. No plans for VH.

No problem, now we need to find where it came from to get any updated version. What version of Gingerbread does it say? The CM7 version says 2.3.7

The version of the mms app is 2.3.5. This is quoted from that guy's original post:
"BTW, the MMS app i posted is from Decks AOSP 1.3d rom(that has the fix for the 9016 texts) and the VVM app is from the 8/22 GAPPS, Enjoy......."

The installation is easier too. Just need to install the apk file. The one from the post above needs to be restored using titanium backup.

I love you guys things just keep getting better and better, keep up the great work. and also if we could have the to apk's for the voice mail and smsfix adding to the front page on the 1st post to help everyone out. After the first 5 to 10 pages and then the last 3 pages you kinda get tiered looking through all the pages.

Now you need to install a transparency theme. Try Miui, Meizu, or one of Jasonevil's themes. [Theme Chooser APK] Orion: An MIUI inspired theme *UPDATE* *7/12/2011* - xda-developers

Next you will need to uncheck "wallpaper hack" under SEttings>ADWLauncher>System Prefences. If using other launchers, install multi picture live wallpapers from the market.

I haven't tried it yet, but if that fixes the Transparent issues, what about the center clock? :/
