[ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 3/9 zvd only

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 12-8-2011

Good point I guess everyone should understand whatever process they are going to give a shot at! And actually read up and learn even before trying! And I'm sure to speak for everybody when I say we know the feeling, the rush of using these awesome roms created by awesome people!

Can you sync contacts with wifi and no data?
I'm outta city and no service here. I have wifi, so flashed the latest 12-08 barebones and gapps.
I'm connected to wifi and signed into my gmail account, turned on the sync for contacts, calender and gmail. And yet I dont see any contacts? is that normal?

Yup...sure can...you have to have Internet access though.

I agree the sticky won't stop the hasty from masonry, but a quick explanation of what it is and why we are using different bands wouldn't be a bad idea. It has got to be frustrating for folks when they see someone referring to ZVH as GB and ZVD as Froyo... and then there is CM7. This wasn't terribly necessary until now, as previous updates were reliable upgrades for this device.

I admit that when I peruse a forum for a new device, I am a bit confused as to what is compatible with what. The Optimus T, for example, has ROMs for 2.2 and 2.2.2 and then GB with no real explanation of which build ECxx they are or are not compatible with.

So my camcorder doesn't work. It freezes every time and force closes. And then I'll have to reboot. It was working fine in previous builds. I did wipe everything when I installed the 12-8 build.

Well, all threads with ROMs, including this one, state at the very beginning for which base band exactly...I don't think making a sticky will help, there's a huge caps "brick warning" for ROM Manager and yet that problem still pops up :confused::confused:

A lot of this happens when people come here after they flash something wrong or brick by Rom manager rather than before.:what:

I will get to work on that one. An easy fix would be to push the camera from the 11/20 build.

Also cm7 custom gestures are broken.

I can confirm this is an issue for me as well.

12-8-2011 Barebones

Camera Video Recording seems to freeze the camera app.

It should be noted that the camera from the 11/20 build always made a noise when you "half-pressed" the camera button on the side even though I disabled noises in Cyanogenmod settings. Very annoying. Not as annoying as a freezing camcorder app though.

I pushed the camera.apk from the 11-20 build into the system app folder and it works fine now. Thanks for the suggestion.

Not sure that this is a ROM problem but anytime I reboot my phone I lose whatever them I applied before. Never had an issue with this one on any other build but who knows.

I hear ya and also admit to all put madness when first looking at a new device forumw, but am totally joyous at getting the opportunity to learn techniques to basically hack the thing to pieces :p haha

I'll look at a real fix in the next build. And of course it works in the 12/8 release.

None of the cm7 settings are sticking until after a reboot. Fresh install, no restores.

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 12-8-2011

which Google apps are you using? And which settings are not sticking?

Build:11/15/2011
Never had any Wifi issues b4 but I'm pretty sure using usb headset causes my wifi to not work properly if it was off & I used the headphones, then I have to reboot the phone because the wifi won't connect then disconnects amd tries to reconnect.

The audio on the Bluetooth comes on unequalized solved by pushing any button in the DSP Manager.

I was seeing some settings not sticking either. Also did a fresh install. I'm using gapps-gb-20111119-237-signed.zip. I don't recall where I got it (goo-inside.me maybe)?

As to the settings that aren't sticking the most obvious is theme chooser. Other than that it seems kind of random. The first couple boots I couldn't get 16-bit transparency to turn on, but now it seems to have finally done it. The same with governor and CPU speed settings. I think after a few boots everything is the way I want it but it was a little bit of work getting there.

I was having issues like that with the last 2 builds. After a few reboots it seemed like they went away. Did you debug the system before you installed?

gapps-gb-20111119-237-signed.zip
notification power widgets, placements, governors settings, etc.
After reboots, some I've tried to change will be changed.
I.e. the widgets I want are there now. But, it's impossible to put them I'm the order I want.
Theme won't stick either...

p.s.
I did debug-system...
Could it be the gaps zip?
