[ROM][CM9][ICS][4.0.4] Cyanogenmod 9, Android ICS 4.0.4

This is off topic. I made two restore points on clockwork but I want to remove one. Anyone know how this is done?

Arjen:

here is a log cat using alogcat from market

this is on my phoenix p506 using the second kernel you posted that has fixed wifi

rom cm9-p500-pasquale-KANG.zip ( i used this because it did not give me black screen while getting an incoming call but it still has black screen after sleep for a few seconds and while in a call when trying to hang up) also the cpu was set at 600max 480min

i will be posting a log of aokp build 38 as well that black screens me when receiving a call no matter what the cpu settings

Thrive i a little different than Phoenix kernel wise dont know why they did it that way but i think the thrive phoenix and optimus one should all have been made alike but no lg had to go messing with tbings. Come to think of it phones should be made like computers completely upgradeable space, graphics, ram etc

Luckily they share the same mainboard, kernel detects boards from Phoenix and Thrive as P500

Lol weird and cool it's just crazy how slight subtle differences can cause monster headaches . Seriously the p500 series are identical in shape design size but inside a different chip here and there sheesh. But in all actuality all manufacturers do it for instance sony and the ps3.

Uploaded a testbuild at Index of /arjen/p505/

Test it please and report findings :D
I already know colors are distorted, is being fixed in next kernelbuild ;)

well for me on the lg phoenix it is not good

it will not recognize in adb period or the computer (usb drivers not working or installed)
it will not wake back up after it goes to sleep period no matter what you set or do
it will not boot back up after a reboot or power down unless you wipe everything
it wont allow me to install alogcat so i could not get a logcat and adb or computer wont see the device so no luck there.

so i belive this one my be back to the drawing board lol.

but thats what testing is all about

I know this sounds corny, but my temporary workaround for the dreaded P505 black screen bug was to plug in my charger. ;) But I still can't do rapid power OFF/ON.

[EDIT] I just found the CPU throttle settings and set 480/600 per recommendation. It works, though I still have to wait a few seconds between cycles. Not a big deal.

OK, here's what I did on my P505 just now...

Completely wipe /cache and /data
Format /system
Flash cm-9.0.0-RC0-p500-UNOFFICIAL_2012-06-06.zip
Flash http://forums.androidcentral.com/at...enmod-9-android-ics-4-0-4-lgp505icskernel.zip
Boot up (always takes awhile after complete wipe. If I had to guess, I would say 3-5 minutes)
Setup CM9
Reboot to CWM and flash ICS 0429 GApps
And voila, it booted
Colors are beautiful
Wifi came right up
Quick power OFF/ON: No black screen if I wait at least 3 seconds or so from OFF to ON. (CPU set to 480/600).
ADB works
AND, it was SOOO wonderful to Google, rotate to landscape and not crash. (I have an Atrix, lol).

Thanks Arjen, you're an awesome dev.

thank you for the tip and i can confirm this build works way better than others i have tried. the black screen bug is still there and noticeable but way less generaly if you wait for a few seconds it will not black screen on wakeup but 1 out of 5 times during an incoming call it will black screen i am still testing it out and will keep testing it out for a few days or untill a better one comes along. i will record any thing i see wrong and report back.

one thing i did notice is ics is much faster than stock GB even when loaded with apps
and also if you are moving the phone around (making the sensors run) and receive a call it will black screen. seems like it hates to multi task lol

keep up the good work arjen

would it be much to ask for a fully working recovery for our phones? 8)... at least in my thrive i have colors distorted and can't enable usb mount storage o:... i've tried the one that is in this forum and usb mount storage doesn't work either, and have a different button layout s:.. w/e, just asking xD

well i did find a problem lol after doing some testing and multiple rebooting the rom failed to boot it shows the cynogenmod9 logo then black screen then turns off lol.

and it was working sooo well

thought i was actualy going to get to keep ics for a bit and play with it but if it wants to be that way then poo on it back to OEM GB for now untill something new to test hits.

lol i think right now the main priority is to fix the kernel and get a stable bug free release. then i guess someone can work on the recovery.

i never really needed the usb mount because i just pop my sd card out and put it in a micro sd adapter and use the computer to do what i want then put it back on the phone and go from there.

Nice to hear there is some progress.
Modifying a lot of things in the kernel now, it turned out some things were not in our source.

Send from my phone...

Very cool looking forward to the next release. Now imagine if you had a thrive abd Phoenix lol we would have the most stable release out there haha
